I will be back around 10 PM today
and can play at that time!
I can play on Thursday too. I prefer let the ordinar players play the game.
A sub can screw up your whole strategy, so please reconsider it Atawa. Some day you will be unable to play self!
I hope to see you at 10 PM today!

10 pm is fine with me.
But the others may have to get up early in the morning to work or something.
We can play until 1 am.
A short session, but a session after all.
If not, than let's play on Thursday.

I prefer that too, but the game will get delayed quite often with 5 players. And screwing me up any firther then I allready am is quite difficult at least
I cant commit to thursday as I have to make a trip for work and dont know when I'll be back.

Okay, about this delay we had.
I propose we accept the policy of playing with subs. It really defeats the fun if 4 people have to delay playing because of one.
This is not criticism directed at you winzity, as I said these things can happen to anyone and I also think it is commendable that you informed us a day in advance
I do not know how feasible it is to actually find subs on short notice. My ICQ list is empty so I don't have contacts I could call.

Another thing to discuss.
In the very good DiploFAQ I read the recommendation to increase the movement rate of all ships by 2 points (in the rules.txt).
I think this would be a good idea. It would allow more interaction with atawa as his position is such as it is - remote.
What do you think?

Your post is just a statement. You point out the real problem self... Finiding subs is not easy... at least founding one that take care of your civ! And other players don't do it better than you self, they can't tell the sub which startegy it should use during the session!
The policy with subs is not a problem for me. The risk I will be away one more session is very low. It's just a decision that will effect the other players in the game.

That would not apply to triemes...because it would effect their possibility to cross oceans.

I agree with VL's statement. if we postpone every time someone is missing this game will take us so long half of us will retire before its ended.
(Witch I'm still planning at 40 btw )

Not realy, take a close look at the map, 3 or 5 moves tiremmes make realy no difference. Our oceans are huge
I personaly like the idea, not only becouse I'm on a far away island but it also gives players more incentive to send out ships. The problem with a map this big is that players usualy dont have much units outside their teritory and interaction is usualy limited to diplomatic conversations and caravans being delivered.

Ok, so that puts me and atawa in favour of the idea. How about the rest of you?
We should decide on this, we play today!

I like the idea of increasing ship movement. I don't remember if we did that in HOTW2 or not. I wasn't around from the beginning.
But yea, incentives for sending out ships is exactly needed. Civ games are usually not as maritime as the real world was and is.

This was the wonder I realy needed being in Nz and all.
We can only build 4 wonders each so I'll have to carefully think about what other 3 wonders to shoot for.
(Shame there is no wonder that stops corruption )

There is a wonder called democracy.
And we can build 5 wonders each, nobody can build the Great Wall and everybody can build Apollo and Manhattan.

We can always vote again.
5*5 = 25 + GW + Manhattan + Apollo = 28.
Unfortunately, according to this calculation, somebody is going to have to build Eiffel.

Did someone alter the settler work rate? In this game, and in most MP games I think, settler can finish a road on the turn you press 'r'. This is not so in singleplay. What gives?
