Suggestion Box
I have a few suggestions to offer.
Although ulimately under the spirit of the Hive, everyone works for the greater good, it would be nice to have base governors to keep and eye out for their base. Of course during the conquest of Chiron, very specific orders from the top will over-ride decisions on what the base should do. It will be nice for the governor to handle daily issue and keep and eye out for resource management and drone issues.
What I am asking for is responsible governors to keep track of their bases, in sense owning it, for both gameplay and roleplay purposes. It would also promote ownership by having the governor the choice to name their base during the start of their term. Failure to continuly to maintain the base will result in termination of contract (and possible renaming of base to the new governor).
Oh yeah, this thread is on topic for general suggestions, hence the title.

I truly do not mind such an idea. Except we're lacking people for the essential government positions as it is, I do not believe that there are enough individuals in the Hive that can act as governors.

Having a 'Topped' list of ministers will be nice and list of 'help wanted' positions too.

I don't see why people can't adopt a base, when we're out of this crucial stage where all the bases are contributiong to growth and crawlers.

Of course the Chairman or the Head of Development will have final say. But it will be fun to imagine the lives of the people living in your bases.

Technically speaking, Vev's suggstion has been (or rather, was) my job for the last two months. I was the only and top Base Prefect, in charge of watching over the production of the bases.
And yes, Jamski - the chickens are out to get you.

Each base prefect is in charge of keeping their base in golden age.
Apparently that's a real chore.

I volunteer for performing as the prefect of HongHu KongHu. I promise I will follow orders from the Chairman and Prefect Comrade Xenodoughnuts, and I'll try keep my people in their golden age (is that 50 or 60). Not easy but I'll try.

HongHu it would help if you got on MSN more often when the turns are due. Then you would be included in more game discussion and maybe even a turn chat or two.

I really do want to do that Comrade Kody, but as you probably already know sadly they don't allow me to install it at work.

Well in this office where I'm still at probation, we are not allowed to install anything. The IS people will do it for you if you tell them why you need it. Imagine I tell them that I need it for ... Well you get it. I would do it in secret myself but I don't have the right in this computer and it wouldn't let me. Sigh.

Why not use the Spartan Chronicles chat room (the authors don't use it any more, and it now sits dormant)
Find it here

Alright, if enough people volunteer for the positions we will go thought with it. Please post your intentions to become a prefect as well as the base you would like in the jobs thread.
If nothing else this will serve RP purposes. Also I still need people for the remaining two open departmental positions, hint hint.

Perhaps I should bribe someone with nervestaples
On a related note, perhaps there should be a list of new cities to be built that hasn't been assigned a name.
