Nothing. They weren't perfect but a lot better than some. I'm happy with who I am now and with different parenting I'd have turned out differently.

I have now become afraid of many small things (cars in particular) because of the extreme caution advised by my mother in my youth.
Otherwise, perfect !

I simply wish they were around more. There was a little light physical abuse, some more serious emotional abuse, but it was the neglect that did the most damage.
I didn't vote for anything, as nothing really fit.
And I'm over 25

I think with all us geeks are parents will all seem fine, it is harder to be good parents when you have awful children... though, that is a product of parenting...
my parents are good enough
they did like to pry in my life way too much, but tried to give me freedoms. It wasn't until college that I began toa actually sever the ties and not tell them anything unless they asked.
I wouldn't change this though, as it is what parents should do... be involved.
What I would change is my dad's attitude towards things. he always says "if there is a problem, throw money at it, and it will go away"... I never need money, all I need is someone to listen to my problems and help me fix them... not have them fixed... I don't have a lot of money like the do...
it would also be nice to hear them say nice things to or about me...
so, since there is no "spend less money on me" option I will vote to listen more...

I have no real basis for complaint of any kind. I feel lucky to have the parents I do.

Cutting back a bit on the "You're Number One!" chant would have been good. Then maybe that's the case with most only childs. They have to discover later that they're not the centre of the universe Apart from that nothing. My mom was great.

Spiff, children shouldn't be coddled. Need to send them out to fight Indians and mountain lions and such. Good reason for having lots of spares.

Me and my brother toughened each other up.
How many of you have gotten hit with:
darts, pool balls, pool cues, golf clubs, baseball bats, golf balls, a shoe (right in the eye, scratching your cornea), and other **** that I can't remember right now, in addition to having your collarbone broken while fighting?
Since I was the bigger one I never resorted to weapons, but my brother got his fair share of lumps from elbows, knees, fists, feet and headbutts...
