Freddy vs Jason review
*Disclaimer*---------------------------> THIS POST CONTAINS A FEW SPOILERS!!! IF YOU ARE GOING TO SEE THE MOVIE DONT READ. JUST KNOW ITS PRETTY MUCH WORTH IT.
Now then, with that out of the way. Lets get to it. The plot was kinda iffy, left much to be desired. Yet somehow, the producer did a very well job in bringing the two together from both movies. Originally the movie starts with Jason emerging from a burial in Crystal Lake after dreaming about freddy, Dont worry this fits in later. Jason, goes to Elm street and starts murdering people. You see, Freddy needs to be feared in order to kill. But the problem is...Freddy has been largely forgotten. The hustle and Bustle of present day has made the world forget him. So he brainwashes Jason into killing people on Elm street, to get people to remember him. Basically, making him stronger. Jason Kills several dozen people (One scene at a rave was really good, a few dozen punks fought with him in a cornfield. No prizes for guessing who won But all in all a nice fight scene). The punks catch on to whats going on, and devise ways to kill both freddy and Jason suddenly realising that the best way was to make them each fight each other in the REAL-World. Basically what turns freddy against Jason is he begins killing too many people and they start talking and fearing Jason and not freddy. So freddy makes someone sleep-walk with tranquilizers and brings Jason into the dream world. What follows in a half an hour fight in "Freddy's World" Which has somewhat good special effects. But freddy clearly gets the best of Jason in this one. But one of the girls from the rave i mentioned earlier falls asleep and brings Freddy into the real world. The tranquilizer wears off on Jason and the two begin to do battle, at, you guessed it. Camp Cystal Lake What follows is a very packed fight in which Jason comes out the winner and freddie loses. However there is room for a sequel due to an event at the very end.
Overall the movie was pretty good. Definately worth seeing. The movie definately has its moments and nudity. Like the Pothead who freaks out and falls asleep and is eatin by a trippy worm. And the rave fight scene I mentioned earlier. Very good humor, Some moments of fear expected, then a double dose which really got me (not much of the double-fear try, but very predicatable after awhile). The fight scenes were pretty good. Acting was adequate. I give it a 7/10. Not to bad for a movie that they said would suck.
The theatre was packed, everybody enjoyed it.

I don't get it... in Jason X, Jason was sent to some weird planet. How do they explain that?

now i see why other thread was closed.
anyways like i said, Freddy's killing/nightmare scenes could have been scarier. Jason's killing scenes were more funnier than scary and Freddy VS Jason was well.... just what you would see from an action movie.
A very very bad horror movie, but you may still like it if you're a fan of freddy and/or jason just because of the fact that they fight each other.
I havent been so not scared since Signs.

No one lost nor won. Just like when Jason was "drowning" during his dream, he wasnt really going to die since he's immortal, Freddy isnt really going to die just because he got his head chopped off. Both are immortal and as long as one can't kill another the battle will just last forever.

Normally not a fan of horror movies, but my friends dragged me to see it. A pretty entertaining movie I thought.

Ah! Thanks Ming, didn't notice this thread when it was out.
It was more of an action movie than a horror movie. You need suspense, and the question of truth hanging over the big evil always helps.
Freddy talked! HE CANT TALK!!! . Thats just wrong!
Whats the story behind this film? Like I said, I never saw the prequels.

My understanding sympathies (sorry Drogue and Verres, I don't mean it! )
EDIT: The girls were hot though.

It was either that or I keep drinking Besides, trashy slashy horror has it's place, and after chilli vodka and triple Ben and Jerry's might just be it
It was ok. It was a fun film, with way more blood and flesh exposed than the plot needed. Kind of typical consumerist trashy horror film. If I went into it like I normally wouldn to a film, wanting to watch something with a story, that is believable and well portrayed I would have been disappointed. However if you walk in there wanting to be entertained without havign to think about what your watching, it's a pretty fun film. The production was slick, there was bits of humour and action, and yes, the girls could not be called unattractive. The pothead eaten by the worm was a clever touch too. If there's nothing decent on give it a look. If there is, watch something else. Couldn't give it more than 5/10.
Hmmm, it seems I watched a lot more of it than I though

Freddy's always talked, making some quip before slashing someone apart. If Jason spoke now that would be wrong (does he talk at all in it?). I might just go and see this.

The film is entertaining.
But it sucked.
First of all, I really don't get faded glory's statement about plenty of naked women. That's true for... the first 10 minutes. And only 2 naked women. Both with fake bulb-like boobs.
The movie was hardly scary - more funny.
The only "scary" bits were freddy's and his only really scary scene is the dream in the police station. 2nded maybe by the way the kid who ran out of the mental institution died. And that scene was HARDLY scary. I mean, I'm easily scared, and I was absolutely not scared with that scene.
His scenes in the wierd warehouse are hardly frightening, and so is the pathetic fight with Jason.
Freddy has always been a top quality scarer with freaky mythological and religious motiefs, and a whole lot of very very imaginative ways in which his victims died.
In this movie he talks too much, uses his knives glove too much, appears fully lit too much, and is too ... pop-culture.

Perhaps my view is being affected by my state on Saturday night, but even so, I think 4/10 is being generous.
