Slow to Update...
Apologies. I'm in the middle of dissertation fever trying to write up some data and also have job interviews. I'm not really sleeping much. Hopefully I can get an update out this week.

I'll also be away starting on the 20th (taking Lili to Atlanta to catch a plane). I'm back Jan 1st. I won't be able to do an update during that time because the computer I'm using isn't "cleared" for Apolyton access. (Only certain IP numbers can update the site.)

Good News: The site was updated today.

Bad News: I'm gone to Atlanta tomorrow morning for a day, then back here for only one day before going home to NY for the holidays. The site may or may not get updated during that time, depending on internet availability and how much time I have while on the road.

Back from Atlanta, after driving on the hellish I-75. Traffic was backed up so far in the southbound direction that I had time to take out the road atlas, plan an alternate route around Macon, and put it away again without having to move the car.

Heading for NY tomorrow (and I'll also stop in Philly at some point during the break to visit my college roommates). Everyone please have a merry Christmas and of course an EXTREMELY HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Where exactly in New York will you be? We could possibly meet in person. I need to know your opinion on the SDC rules pronto, so that I can finish my preparations for the site, else we'll need to push back the release date. TALK TO ME!!!

Reismark, I am in Kingston, NY, along the Hudson. I'll be here until the 25th, then am going to Philadelphia for 2 days (26th - 28th, driving). Then I'll be here until the 1st of January, when I fly back to Tallahassee. I'll be in Tallahassee for a few days (I have to teach class) and then am going to Atlanta (driving again) to get Lili from the airport. I should be back some time that weekend.

In the meantime, go ahead and post the rules as you see fit. I trust you. If you really need me to read them, please send them again to my yahoo address and I can download and read them tomorrow.

My one concern about the SDC rules is that both Mark and Techumseh (especially Techumseh) asked me to allow judges to participate in People's Choice this time around (otherwise everything else is the same as it was previously and as suggested by Techumseh concerning the rules for ToT teams). What I need to know is if this is okay or not.

Kingston... you're a ways from me (I live out on the Island).

Uh, yeah, I'm thinking about doing Argonauts, and if MarkL is a judge, well, everyone knows my scenario will lose no matter what, so, I agree with Mike and Mr. *AHEM* Pheonix I mean.

If the judges use a similar codename system as the two previous SDCs, Mark (judge of the 'official contest') won't know who wrote what scenario - this discussion appears to be about the People's Choice voting, of which Mark will have only one of dozens of votes (one presumes). Don't throw in the towel Nick before it's started!

Cam, I know I quit last time, but the topic didn't appeal to me much. I am not throwing in the towel. Even if MarkL did know which one was mine, I'd still submit it. Good point though, I forgot that they are annonymous people.

Resimark, I'm still waiting for the rules and the map for Argonauts.....

And, can the scenario be made in MGE, or does it have to be Fantastic Worlds?

I see no reason not to allow judges to participate in the Peoples' Choice. I view the PC contest as sort of a "master's" competition.

* Judges and past winners (of the #1 spot in the judged contest) should be barred from entering the contest, *except* as Peoples' Choice Only entries, the way Cam's scenario was in the first contest

* Judges can't *vote* in the Peoples' Choice

* MGE scenarios are OK, though we prefer FW

Reismark, how goes it? (Too bad I didn't check the board earlier - I was in NYC yesterday.)
