A variant of the German Jet Fighter as a Fighter-Bomber? Not much difference, but if you're just looking to throw away slots...

More British units perhaps? If the Germans had seriously threatened Antwerp Monty would have thrown everything he had at them, and that includes all kind of cool Pommy units like Cromwells, Canadians, British Paras, Commandos, Piat-men, 24 pounder guns, and the various minor allies attached to 21 Army Group.
Plus, you've barely even begun to include the tracked weirdness that was the 79th Armoured Division - some Ram Kangaroo APCs would be a neat addition for example (as well as being really easy to make - just chop the turrent off a Sherman, add some heads sticking out of the resulting hole, and fiddle around with it a little so that it looks like a Ram, and not a Sherman)

IIRC, that oughta be effective against the player who parks his tanks beside a town in the hopes that the AI will decimate itself against them.

I haven't looked at Civ3 since I shelved it about 18 months ago. Honestly, Call to Power 2 had more promise.

There's always the advice I remember giving for the first version of 'The Cruel Sea': turn your speakers off so you don't hear the elephant noise and shout bang!
...mind you, your better half is unlikely to be impressed by such behavior

I wonder how many others play with the speakers off. I think I turned them off halfway through my first game. Rather play music.

Hi Darth,
as I am living in Luxembourg, playing Herbstnebel was really fun. Kinda felt at home... Looking forward to the next edition!
Got a question: How did you prohibit your Kuebelwagen from bribing etc ? I'd like to create a LRRP unit for recon missions.
Many thanks in advance.

Because I was too lazy to set the sound files up
After about a zillion people complained, I added sounds to the greatly improved version 2.

I'm going to take a risk of posting without having an up-to-date scenario example at hand. If I understand your question right, you need to edit the @SPYOPTIONS section of Game.txt. Techumseh used the idea in Roman Civil War. The key is to use empty lines for the options you want to omit. Here's the default entry:
Code:
|
@SPYOPTIONS
Establish Embassy
Investigate City
Steal Technology
Industrial Sabotage
Poison Water Supply
Plant Nuclear Device
Incite a Revolt
@SABOTAGEOPTIONS |
And a modified example:
Code:
|
@SPYOPTIONS
Contact spy network
Reconnoiter City
@SABOTAGEOPTIONS |
IIRC, the first option is always available whether or not there's text to describe it. Subsequent options that are missing text descriptions aren't shown during the game.

However, all that are normally available to the AI can still be used by the AI.

Panag:
During the Xmas period, my family and friends always take 2 days to go hiking in the North. Usually, I choose a "historically interesting" path, although they always look mightily bored when I get going... The best museum for the luxemburgish part of the Wacht am Rhein can be found in Diekirch: It's completely private, run by history buffs and the huge real-life dioramas are amazing. I haven't visited the one in Bastogne though.
Boco, Techumseh: Thanx alot for your quick response, soon you'll be able to to know all about Charlie, hiding in the delta...
