Uploads Suggestion
Greetings, I would like to suggest that the upload/ view images section of Apolyton be changed such that checkboxes be introduced so we needn't delete evry file one at a time. I have 60+ tiny files in there, and I want to tidy up a bit. This would make the uploads section alot more user friendly, and possibly lessen whatever load is generated by people deleting things 60 times in 10 minutes.
Here is a mock up of what you could do (minus the 'DEL' buttons being actual buttons)... then, merely a grand 'delete-all' button at the bottom of the list.
Thank you for your time and consideration of my request.

Perhaps a re-hash is more in order than I thought. I am now trying to go through and delete some files... there were a few pics I was illegally hosting before we were told not to do so. I can't seem to get them out of my uploads. I have deleted the same file 6 times only to have it continually be there and still viewable when linked.
Anyone else having this issue?

I find 20 MB to be absolutely plenty.

Thats to cover himself for when whoever looks at his uploads. Yep, something illegal may be there, but he tried to comply with their rules. Intention is 9/10's of Poly law.

Hi Field Marshal Klesh.
There are no intentions to modify the "Upload" service interface at any time in the near future.

Hey Comrade Tassadar.
The 5MB space limit on individual "Upload" directories will not be increased at this time.

What new rule... it's been in place since the beginning
Maybe you weren't aware of it... but it has always been the rule.

Right. I meant to say there was no "NO illegal files allowed" link promenantly displayed on the uploads page. Of course I never went to this or that rules page to find out on my own.
So anyone have ideas as to why I cannot delete any of my files?

I did not mean that. I mean let us upload more stuff (such as pictures for the OT ) instead of banning us when we do so
My actual request: Let us upload pictures so that we can use them in the OT

Use something else than Crapolyton's upload service if you need more space and better reliability. It's that simple.

Nahhhhhh... it's ok to have an opinion.
but his name is getting added to the "list"
And, he is correct that if you need more space, you should use something else

As a long standing member, it's expected that he might get a tad possesive about Apolyton

Add that Civ III n00b's name to the "list" while you're at it, Ming.

"Our site" in the sense of the site we all post at, courtesy of the owners. I don't think there was any misunderstanding for anyone else, all of whom are free from the taint of 'the list'.

Tassadar, what kind of picture do you plan on uploading that exceeds 500 kb in size and thus can't be handled by the attach function?

I have no plans, however there have been times when the size requirement of the pictures has been exceeded
Also, it's a pain to have to post every picture in one post....If I needed to say, put up four pictures, that'll take me two minutes.
And sometimes I need to put pictures at the TOP of the post or in the middle or what not.

I would recommend people who use yellow text be added to the list too, but somehow I don't thing Ming will comply with that...

It stands out like a sore thumb in MoO3 style.
I don't know why Asuka keeps saying "Crapolyton" et al. If it's related to the server, I already informed him it was getting more RAM over a week ago (as soon as I knew)

The QoS hasn't improved much at all, so I keep refering to Crapolyton until things improve.

*sigh*
That's not the solution to all problems, plus I haven't received any formal statement, as to which you seem to refer.
