Power Block PBEM
Sister Thread at MZO
I've noticed that the fewer actual humans involved the faster the PBEM moves. However, I also like to have as many civs as possible.
So, here's the proposal (Oh, great, GhengisFarb has another whacko idea), we have two players each play four civs. Player 1 chooses a civ, then Player 2 chooses a civ. Player 2 chooses a second civ, then Player 1 chooses a second civ. And so on.
Gameplay: Player 1's four civs play in sequence, then Player 2's play in sequence. This drastically speeds up turn play as each player can play four civs in sequence.
So, anyone willing to take me on? You can pick your first civ first....
If anyone else is interested we could have a couple of these going on and make some sort of Power Block ladder tournament or ranking system.
1) OPD vs GhengisFarb
2) UnOrthOdOx vs CerberusIV
3) UnOrthOdOx vs BigDork
4) Iron Jackson vs GhengisFarb
5) UnOrthOdOx vs GhengisFarb (Medieval Cap)
6) ZargonX vs CerberusIV
7) OPD vs ???

Still random starting locations? Or using Cultural linking to stay close to your civs perhaps?

I would assume random everything, but am willing to compromise. Random everything that is, except the Wet setting.

UnOrthO, any chance you could set up our game? You interested in an UnOrthO vs Ghengis set?

OK. First civ Persia.
One thought. It is probably easiest to turn cultural conversions off. I don't really want my own cities trying to flip between my civs.

I've never even cracked open the editor, but have experience with mapping for some RTS's. I am sure I could edit the starting locales on a pangea if that's what you mean...
Judging from above, I guess I get two picks now?
China and Babylon.

If you want someone to set it up for you, I would be willing to do that.
I assume we will want to play these on a Standard map?

Yeah, please set it up GF.
Standard is probably best, I think. And I'm fine with random all. Restless, raging, doesnt matter. Random Barbs for all I care.

It won't let me set it up without playing the first players turn. Any ideas on how I can set it up without being forced to play the first civs's turn?

I don't think you can with a later version than 1.14. If you still have a 1.14 then set it up with that. IIRC that is what Sir Ralph did with As U Like It.
If not then the only thing I can think of is to start the game as a scenario and save the map so you can start again with the same map later. You can then send the first player a screenshot of his first civs start position and he can tell you what to do with that civs units (and tell you what password he wants for that civ). You start the first civ off, then send him the turn to play his other three civs. That should work OK.
I don't mind whether UnOrthOdOx goes first or I do. I suggest you flip a coin. Heads I start, tails UnOrthOdOx starts.

Then he would need passwords.
Apparantly I will as well if that is how we are doing it. OPD, GF, PM me your passwords and I will set this up tonight, skipping the first turn.
