IF we decide to attack the Americans...
Since time is short for polling, if the other poll concludes we should attack the Americans, how do we want to do that? We could nibble away at the edges, or go for a city with a Wonder.

Wahington has Leo's and that would be very very useful to us. New York has Marco Polo's and the Hanging Gardens. The Americans have at least a few formerly Indian cities that are quite far away from their Capitol.

Since we have happyness problems and a lack of embasies NY sounds like a good target.

Besides, I hate it when Leo's upgrades crusaders, they only become weaker

Still depend on what their forces are like. If they are powerful, then Washington et. al may be too hard to take, and cost us units for nothing. The far-flung cities, though, would cut them down a bit and we would be facing dribs and drabs of units from the core. However if they are weak all over then go right for the jugular.

But, as a precautionary measure - I voted for the far cities.

Obviously we need to have a Dip investigate any special city we want to atack (like Washington). We can have a force ready to attack immediately afterwards, and if we can't take that city, we can seek others.

My rule is that we always attack with overwhelming force so that the attack can be continued after initial losses. In this case, taking Wahington would be such a significant victory (given the Wonder we would win) that almost any cost would be worthwhile if we can hold the city.

Wholehearted agreement, provided we keep this in mind. Where we have no city investigation, what would we use to judge "overwhelming force" as? Mr Military Minister? Do you have any specific thoughts on how to determine the enemy's forces, or do you just have a stack of doom in mind (eg 10 Crusaders + 5 Musketeers...)?

Obviously not that much for one city, but, well, you know.

Rush a diplomat and try to bribe a city.

We may need to xin for cash to really start the ball rollling.

Who needs crusader hordes?

Americans will probably change back to demo, we need attackers then to take their city's.
Only problem is then that our crooks are not good anough against their musks as they are mostly defended on a river

That's a valid point. If we are going to try to bribe a city, we need to do so now. Otherwise, we will miss out on our opportunities.

Also, we can use the diplomats as 'wall softeners' to aid our crusaders, as well as investigators to establish precisely the number of musketeers in every city.

Problem with bribing is that they will probably bribe it back at half price when they get back into demo

We need Metalurgy before we can launch the next offensive against Americans and build a string of forts in the delta.

But then again, we might be able to keep the US out of Demo
