Scenario of the Week Club
I'm wondering if there's any interest in playing and discussing (on this forum) lesser known scenarios, both new and old? The idea is that members of the Scenario of the Week Club (SOTWC) would take turns proposing an interesting scenario which would be downloaded and played by all SWOTWC members for one week and discussed on the SL forum the following week. And so on.
New blockbusters like Spartacus or Red Front would be out. The idea is to find lesser known scenarios that are innovative and of good quality. Every member has a week to play each scenario, and everyone is expected to submit at least one post discussing their experience with it and their opinions about it.
If people are interested, I will be happy to co-ordinate the schedule, etc. Who's game?

I actually found the Terminator 2 scenario I was looking for the other day. It's good and it seems noone knows about it!

Good idea! Count me in. I'd suggest Markus Eklund's Ottomans scenario. It's not bad.

Great idea! This way we can finally also enjoy all those unknown marvels we would never see otherwise. So we would be having a scenario every two weeks or so, right? I mean if one is played for one week and discussed for about one week afterwards.
What do you determine as a lesser known scenario? Just wondering because the definition is quite open to interpretation.
So there would be the need to a few rules I guess.
Who will chose the scenario and on what grounds/reasons?
Could I propose one of my own scenarios?
I mean it can't hurt to ask...
Keep those ideas coming! not to mention the support!

Stefan, Hendrik, Phoenix (you'll always be Temba to me), and Paul, welcome aboard!
Coug, was that a yes?
Hendrik, I suggest we just take turns, and when it's your turn, just use your own judgement. If you blow it, I'm sure you'll hear about it. I don't think you should pick your own scenario, however.
I'm thinking FW scenarios mainly. Should we allow MGE or ToT scenarios once and a while?
How does this Thursday (Feb 17) sound for a starting day? We'd have till the following Thursday (Mar 2) to play, then comments start Thursday night. The next person then provides a link to the scenario he's chosen by the following Thursday evening (Mar 16), and so on. Sound OK?

I don't think we should allow ToT scenarios. I have ToT, but I'm not much into it and thus can't judge it. Maybe later on when ToT is a little older.
MGE scenarios: OK, as long as we don't HAVE to play them multiplayer.

Good to hear!
I wasn't really serious about my own scenario anyway.
Taking turns in choosing a scenario sounds good. Who will start? You? Good.
I think we should concentrate for our first ones on FW. I have ToT for a while now but haven't really played it very often. So it would be hard to judge something for me if it was in ToT. But I see no reason why we should not take it once we all have some solide experience with it.
MGE would be bad for me because I don't have it.
Could we start Friday 18th or Saturday 19th instead? It would be far more conveniend for me because I wont have much time Thursday because I have school then till 5pm and wont be home till 6pm if I'm lucky.
Normaly I always have time on the weekends however.

I agree, FW is the best choice (You can play FW scenarios on MGE, but not vice versa).

OK, it's FW only for the time being. I'll post the name of the 1st scenario Thursday evening, plus a link to the download site. Hendrik, that way it's available for download all day Friday in preparation for the weekend. Please hold your comments until next Thursday, say about 18:00 EST.
As for taking turns picking scenarios, how about using the order people responded: techumseh, Stephan, Hendrik, Phoenix, and Paul. Coug, Mao and Darth Veda, I'm not sure if you want to participate or not. Let me know if you do. Of course, anyone is welcome to play the scenarios and participate in the discussion.

Well, I`ve got both MGE and ToT (ha ha ) but it wouldn`t be fair to those without it if we picked scenarios that required them. Stick with FW, for the time being at least.
