Okay, I finally got the game from SG and I loaded it up, and I was shocked. Usually when I have played, I try to space my cities out to use all of the land so that I can feed everyone. But on this game for some reason the citys are only one space away, is this for a reason. And another problem, on the second turn, half of them went into civil disorder, should this have happened? I didn't save when I tried to play because I'm not sure what happened to it. Any tips?

Don’t worry about it, anyone with a modicum of self respect despises ICS
Sometimes you gotta live with it though….

All out ICS is messy, but it has its good points and I think Xinning is a more responsible version of it, but it is too late now. Anyway, perfectionism is boring.
It has been a while since I saw the game, I'd love to see where we are.
Farmboy, if you are looking for a No ICS game, we do have one going on now that I'm sure you could join.

Who's next? Good question and I have to defer to the Scouse Gits who I think started this Knitting Circle.
Maybe what we need to do at this point is take role call and find out who is still interested in this game, then rebuild the 'turns list' keeping in mind the current order of course. Just an idea.
BTW - sign me up.

As I read it, SilverDragon is next. I'm still interested in playing this game.

LOL!
Farmboy, think of ICS this way. It's just like looking at New Jersey from 50,000 feet. Especially after pollution starts to crop up.

In the mean time, I've got the file in a different directory as not to filth up my other saved games.

Oh, come on Farmboy - some of us actually like playing with a zillion villages rather than a few cities - bear with us, be kind to the afflicted, and make sure you find us early in MP (You do NOT want us to find you later!)
If I read the thread accurately your best bet is to pass onto DaveV - Taurus seems to be MIA - but if he reemerges we can fit him in after DaveV.

In MP I have no issue with ICS, it is defineitly strategy and not sleaze in that application. When you do it to the poor AI it is sleaze though. Cities are cool, I love when I have nothing left to build in a city!

ICS can get a little crazy but you can't argue with this, You're civ will not die as long as you have a city on the board. ICS makes that very difficult.

I have the save file and will play this weekend. Assuming Muad'Dib is MIA, johnmcd appears to be next on the list after me. Note to John after a quick check of the save - the sleaze factor is pretty high, and is liable to skyrocket during my tenure. Are you still interested in continuing?

I aim to sell all improvements in order to turn sleazey towns into wholesome settlers on my next shot anyway, so feel free....

Yikes! The save file I received is an MGE save. What do we do now? Play on and exclude some of the original players, or try to go back in time to a 2.42 save? I have the game on hold awaiting a decision...

Oh, I'm guessing that would have been me.
I have the file that was right before me still, I can just send that one to you. Is that okay?

How would that happen? I thought MGE and 2.42 were not interchangable. Mmm...
Oh well. Who knows where it happened? I don't think we can back up. I guess I'm done with the knitting circle.
It sucks for me. But I say play on. There are other games.

Farmboy - yes, if you could send me the original save, that would probably be best. Sorry for the confusion.

AD 800 save is on its way to johnmcd. A brief summary: I established a handful of new cities and built Marco Polo's Expedition (although none of the AIs is interested in my "worthless" maps ). I discovered Engineering and Trade, and am about one turn from Invention.

I’ll send it to you tonight Rhavin, once you’ve played send it on to the next player, you should find a list at the top of the page somewhere.
