Brisbane is a decent city... Sydney is hell, however. Adelaide? Limbo...
Last I saw Teacher and Historian were level... does that mean I should be a history teacher?

I think you should consider the possibility of being a banana. How do you make a living being a banana? Simple...
Step 1, Be a banana, Step 2... Step 3, profit.

No, it's more like this...
1. Be a banana
2. Be eaten
3. Be excrement

Politics is should not be a full time gig for a revolutionary. It tends to make you a one-sided person that no one wants to be around. Being a teacher or philosopher are just different versions of that.
Hippies suck. Don't be a hippie.
Be a sound engineer.

A whole nother reason why he wouldn't be able to sit down
Teacher - that's good, but you'd probably end up teach politics... Unless you teach elementry school.
Writter - that's cool too, just don't write about politics
Hippy - by being the antithesis of politics you actually become the embodiment of it.
I always wanted to be come one of them dillholes who writes travel reviews for Conde Naste or Fordors or something. Travel, write, all on the company dime...
Either that or just become independently wealthy... neither one has worked out yet.
Another good job: construction... Work outside, get a good workout, worry 'bout nothing.

Except permanent back injury or bad knees...
Teacher. Don't be a teacher, since you can't decide what to do. Indecisiveness in front of kids will cause them to gang up on you.
Historian. That's also bad, because you can look back and analyze your past failures.
Writer. Don't be a writer. Writers tend to write about their personal lives and no one wants to read yours. Plus you again can analyze your past failures, and now you have a hard copy.
I think that leaves hippie and philosopher. Since you listed them as possibilities you must not be bothered by the idea of abject poverty for your entire life. But don't be a hippie. Hippies are evil, loathesome creatures shunned by stray dogs and small children. And although as a philosopher you can analyze your past failures, you'll never be able to reach a conclusion that will completely satisfy you. And that's okay.
Be a philosopher.

Oops...
I guess you could be a sound engineer too, but then you'll have to work and study and stuff, which hippy wanna-bes are incapable of. Think it over.
