I believe IW's quote gave good advice.

That would be nice to know. Some of the quotes are so long I don't get enough time to finish reading them.......

The pause button is nonfunctional with all of the browsers I have tried it in.
Also, if you are quick, you can highlight and copy it before it disappears and paste it somewhere to read at your leisure.
Zipped fortune database IW linked me to. I am glad he was not forced to remove it, as there still seem to be a lot of people who want it.

Opera lets you go back to the quote without that annoying "page expired" message IE seems so fond of half the time. I have learnt, though, that the long ones just aren't worth my time reading. They are neither funny nor intersting.

Seems to be a porblem Mark could work on, if he wasn't busy protecting Grecce from the forces of evil.

Yes, Opera is always the answer. However, I concur I almost never bother with reading the quotes either.

I've used pause before, and it works.
You just have to try a few times.

I pretend I'm on an elevator and I press the button a bunch of times in rapid succession, like that makes the elevator hurry up. Seems to work for pausing the screen too.

The quotation page goes by so quickly for me that I hardly ever have a chance to fully read the quotation before it's gone (except for the short ones... I like those)

For a short time I was hoping it was recently added by DanQ as a subtle response to this thread, but then I searched the version of the fortune quote database that I have and found it there too.
