I think I've grown too used to Metal music
First, I've started liking Metallica's ...And Justice for All album more and more. I've even started getting used to their new stuff (though St. Anger is a terrible song, and I hate the way they 'composed' their songs using random cutting of riffs).
But what's even more scary is that I've started thinking of groups such as "Iron Maiden", "Black Sabbath" and even "Motorhead" and "Mercyful Fate" as 'pop-like soft-rock'.
What is hapenning to me?
Will I start liking the growling and thrashing of brutal death metal?
Help!!

Oh, and get this. In the same time, I completely happily listen to Disco music by the Beegees, and Stevie Wonder, and Earth Wind and Fire.

What's the name of that Rush song that's the same as the length of the song? Twenty something?

Dissection
"Storm of the light's bane" is one of my all-time favourite CDs! If you like it, check out Mork Gryning- "Tusen ar har gatt"
Btw, if you really like Beegees, there are plenty of Power Metal bands that might interest you, such as Hammerfall

Start listening to Opeth and you will. Simply the best death metal (or any kind of metal band for that matter) ever.

I wrote a post stating something like "BustaMike will tell you to listen to Opeth", but my connection went down. And what happened in the meantime?
But take his advice, Opeth IS one of the best metal bands

If you like Black Sabbath, you'll like most of Ozzy Osbourne's stuff too, since Black Sabbath = Ozzy.
Also Pantera - Cowboys from Hell is a decent album.

Black Sabbath with Ozzy were much better than Ozzy on his own.

I just saw Metallica live, and though I can't usually stand Metal, especially old metal, they did rock They have amazing stage presence, and I can see why metal works when you have huge speakers and 100,000 people singing it. Ahh, the glory of festivals

MikeH and Drogue: You saw them at the same concert then.
The Black Album through Garage Inc. and S&M were fantastic. This new stuff, you can tell it was written and recorded in a hurry. The fact that the band is now actually getting on with each sucks! Conflict is what we want!
