I'll go with the civ i've played the most games with. America.
But Carthage is catching up, since I'm playing almost exclusively with them currently.

I notice China is in the lead! I'd have to "give props" to Carthage as well. I've been playing as them recently, and I'm about to dominate the world. Hopefully, I won't dominate the world too soon, and will have time to build up my totally neglected culture, and thus achieve a higher score than America, which has yielded me my highest score yet.
Carthage and America: great conquerer civs! Though it isn't implicit in their traits. Two of my favorites thus far, that's for sure, though I sure hope Carthage is "downgraded" in C3C. They didn't kick that much rear in real life!

I think Carthage's relatively poor performance in this poll is due to the fact that people can't vote for more than one! :/
Darn it. I like Hannibal's portrait too. He's only freaky when you finally see his bald head.

Carthage (2 votes) is probably losing votes to France (5 votes), as they have the same trait combo.
Civs like Egypt & China, which are the only examples of their trait combos, probably have a better chance of winning.

Whoa! Egypt just edged out China!
Someone must not know how to use their riders!
(or must always play with cultural linking off!)

I would guess that most people that frequent these boards play with cultural linking off.
Egypt is above China in my book.

Since we're voting favorite, and not neccessarily BEST, I will have to say the Vikings.
I just have so much fun pillaging shores with the berserk.
After them, I would have to say Rome and China are my next favorites.

Oh, no doubt there. Egypt has the makings of a fine civ. I generally play with it on, though, and Egypt doesn't rock quite as hard when it's surrounded by Numidian Mercanaries, Hoplites and Legionaries.

I do play with linking off when I play Egypt. I play with it off most of the time, actually, but sometimes leave it on if playing an Asian or European civ. The "classical" civgroup is just flat out nasty, though. Legionaries, Numidians, Hoplites and War Chariots... that's vicious. Imagine if Persia was in that one
The War Chariot suffers quite a bit when put up against civs with 3-defense units. You essentially have to plan on waiting for a large knight upgrade (not that I don't do that sometimes with Egypt anyway).

Mountain Sage your not theonly one who love them, I too like france for a civ... but I don't see this game like maybe all of you, I like to see it in an historical view... beside my french origin (that's why I love them), I love the mongol not because of there UU or there traits, but because I like to get them like there we're, the biggest earthly empire there was.
But still, the french for empire building trait are simply my favorite, them mongol and at a close second with the mongol, the german... It's just my 2 cents and I know that no body have still picked up the mongol but hey!!! what the hell!!
