Atrain
Until recently - 2 years ago, I had a working copy of Atrain...
This game was developed by ArtDink in Japan, and distributed by Maxis in the 80's.
I really enjoyed this game. My PC and backup were all lost... my bad...
I am on the hunt for a copy of it that will operate on a current PC.
Also looking for fellow enthusiasts...

I loved Atrain - had it for years. Still have the original box and manuals for the game and it's expansion, but the original media is long dead - not that I have anything around that can read 5.25 inch floppies.
I don't have it installed anymore, though.

I know what you mean...
It amazes me how many obscure games from that time are now available on CD....
yet a game that sold so many is still lock away....
ahh well.
Thanks for the memories. I am glad you have good ones.

I did have it for the Amiga, but I could never get into it, I tried so many things, copying it to another disk, copying it to the HDD, scanning for errors, just couldn't get past that intro part.
Ah well!

I tried the game a long time ago, but I had no idea what was going on.

Yeah, I reckon that it is a good sim.
The designers ArtDink had a deal with Maxis, on distribution....
In Japan ArtDink distributed Atrain and SimCity
For the rest of the World Maxis ditributed these products...
OK so I miss the game alot.
It is a long game, I had a PC that was mainly used to play it while I got on with other things....
I understand that a new version is available in France for the Playstation2
definitly not here in Australia.

Tried it a whhile back but it was a non-runner. If only I had the space I'd definitely set up an old 486 rig to run these classic games.

Whats atrain about? A simcity type game where you build a rail line to Harlem, and get to hear jazz music as a reward?

Anyone need it, just send me a PM as I have my floppies still left with it. Yes, I have it and it's authentic.

Ahhh good memories... A-train was the second PC game I bought. It's a shame I can't play it anymore because my computer is too fast and the graphics get ****ed up as well.
BTW, I don't know if anyone knows about it, but there's a sequel of this game, called A4 Networks IIRC. It has some additional features (buses, subways, real life cities etc) and smoother graphics, but it lacks the charm of the original A-train.
