Dbl Your Pleasure Mod
:p Has anyone tried the double your pleasure mod by kal-el?
It needs a little tweaking, but really does improve the game play.
Adds units, techs and buildings. I think it brings the game as close to what civ iii should have been.
I am interested in what other people think.

Excellent mod! It forces choices that simply aren't there in regular Civ.

The mod is great but i think the building upkeep is a little too much especialy with so many buildings.

Speaking of the Double Your Pleasure Mod - Does anyone know if you can have a multiplayer-LAN game using it?
What I plan on doing is:
1. Download the update for DYP to both mine and my partner's computers.
2. Then I will start the DYP Scenario using myself and the rest bots.
3. On the first turn, before I do anything, I will save the game.
4. Then I back out and start a MP game - loading the saved DYP game.
5. Once in the game setup, I change one of the Bots (AI) from "Computer" to "Open." I figure that once my partner joins me, he should take over in the slot that I made open.
I haven't tried this yet since my partner is currently busy with work-related issues. Has anyone tried this yet or am I just getting my hopes up and wasting my time?

Thanks LordDread; and yes, I have confirmed it. We played for 4 hours using the setup that I stated above. Works like a charm. Would have loved to play longer, but tomorrow is a work day so the game has been saved until later.

I like DYP very much, but the 1.05x has less technologies and wonders, so I would rather play in 1.00x.

We're working on a new mod for Conquests, "Civ3: Rise and Rule (from the guys who brought you DyP). RaR will have even more techs, units and improvements, and will incorporate all the goodies from C3C.
The whole DyP team was included in the C3C Beta so we got a head start on the new mod. Look for the first RaR beta sometime in late November.
And in case you didn't know, we recently released a long prolonged update v1.50x. You can get it at the website.
