I don't really think much about the meaning of handles.

Talk to Mark or Dan. IIRC, while vBulletin allows for name-changing, it has to be done by an admin.

It's a satirical site dedicated to the fight against religious nuts. Hence nutwatch.
And it has your name in it, so I was wondering if it was you

PM Dan or Ming. (Mark's in the Greek military right now, so I don't know how helpful he could be to you )
"Thorn" is okay though...why not?

Oh....I see. You actually be surprised to know how many Asmodean's there are on the internet. I'm by no means the only one.

Um, Thorn? I'm pretty sure you've changed your handle before, and didn't Ming, Dan or Markos handle it for you then?

Hehe Thorn is probably on 'the list'. Still, I'm sure Ming will get around to the job eventually.

Was that feature ever enabled?
As far as I've seen, Ming and Dan have always had the ability though.

That feature was probably removed because of unscrupulous people changing their handles to make posts discrediting their opponents.

Under the old software, there was a hack developed to allow users to change their own names. Now you need a mod to do it.
The standard routine is to send Me (or anybody else) a PM stating you want a name change, and what you want to change it to. As long as you don't change your name often, choose an already used name, or just pick one of those names we aren't going to allow... it usually gets done.

Actually, under vB software only the information on the front page keeps the old name, all of the posts you have ever made use your new name.
e.g. I change my name to... Frozzy II.
If I create a thread with the name "Frozzy" before the name changes, the main forum page will display "Frozzy" as having started the thread. However, if you open that thread, the original post will say "Frozzy II, ACS News Editor, [enter location], Aug 2002, 8.29pm".
Get it?

On one of the other forums I visit, the user profile keeps a list of all previous usernames used by that user. That would be a handy feature to have, in my opinion.

Exactly. The thread on this subject is growing a bit long. + It would make it easier to keep track of what SS, Nimrod, :Warning:, Bodds, Park Avenue, is using as his current nick.
