MS Flight Simulator 2004
I'm in the process of "acquiring" it now.
How is the game? Any tips? Links to good sites? Advices? Is it very complicated? Will I be able to enjoy it after not too much training?

Well, basically, what do I need to do to take off? Turn on the engine and press up, or spend 20 minutes on clicking buttons, gears and whatnot?

I do not own this game, so I can't speak from experience, but I thought these games were uber-realistic?

My understanding is that Flight sims are an economically marginal genre, given the hight costs modeling the physics, right, etc. So it would be nice if you would actually buy it, even if the money goes to M$.

I cant learn the most basic stuff.
(note that I use a keyboard)
I'm pressing on 8 for the plane to go up. Nothing happens. I press again. There is a slight change. I hold the button for couple seconds and it goes up wildly. I quickly press 2 and nothing happens, I hold 2 and it goes down wildly. And this is all on a tiny Cessna!
Grrrr.
I tried flying a Boeing 747-400. Meh, the airplane was doing such stunts while I was trying to control it that in reality it would've broken into pieces.

Then don't ask stupid questions like, "How do I take off?"

The Flight simulator in MS Excel 97
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fun and games with excel
This is really true. Remember Ctrl+Shift+Esc to exit.
Believe it or not - A Flight simulator from MS Excel 97 (courtesy : Integra Microsystems, Bangalore, India)
Ever wondered why Microsoft applications seem to become slower and fatter with each new release?
Apparently the constant rain in Redmond has driven Bill's engineers to obsessive flights of fancy. Below you'll find instructions on how to access a little flight simulator that was inexplicably hidden by precipitation-maddened programmers deep inside Excel 97.
In Excel 97, open a new blank work sheet.
Press F5 and type X97:L97 in the "Reference" box, then click OK.
Now hit your tab key once (you should end up in cell M97).
press "Ctrl" and "Shift" while clicking once on the "chart wizard" icon (the one at the top with the blue-yellow-red bar chart).

Yeah, if they add MP and we could shoot each other down, then it might be interesting.

Only flight sim I've ever played is WW2online. When you've got player controled planes, tanks, ships, and infantry to fight with there's no boredom.

Back in college in the early 70's there was a game on the mainframe. Airfight. People from around the world would be doing dogfights. Some in team mode. It was probably one of the first computer MP games. It was great. No real graphics, but that didn't deter anybody.
