Foreign Ministry Screen Shots 1540 AD
I am unable to post a poll at this time , but I will try to add one tomorrow (though most of what we wanted last poll is still to be done ).
I will however post the screenshots, in the interest of sharing the hard gathered information with the citizens of the Apolyton Imperium.
First, the Foreign Ministers Screen, missing only the Russians , and seeing as they have met the Greeks , we have some idea of where the spawn have appeared.
Note the new Power Rating...well done President atawa haven't seen that in a while
Next, the American Intelligence, including the listing of cities.
One particular items of interest include the fact that the Americans are researching Steam Engine, and perhaps if they are successful in researching it, we can finish Fundamentalism, start and finish Explosives, and perhaps by then the Americans will have started and finished Railroad after completing Steam Engine. Then we could try stealing, and hopefully get Railroad without having to go through Steam Engine (and on this world, any techs we don't need would be nice to skip for as long as possible....unless someone out there would like us to work on our Atrocious rep and thus build Eiffel Tower....but don't wait for me to post THAT poll )
Another point of interest is the newly added city of Phlegethon which hopefully will not remain American for long, our former citizens long for a quick return to the Imperium, and to see the traitors heads mounted on poles at the city gates
The Greeks:
The Greeks are researching Astronomy, and if ever there was a tech to gift to try and get peace, this would be among the ones tha t would get my vote. In my experience it seems that the tech they are currently researching is among those most asked for by the AI.
Having said that I firmly agreed that we should NOT be gifting techs to the Greeks, and seeing the powergraph that seems even more wise now.
And here are the Greek cities....21 in total, which while is many less then we have, is still quite a few....they have been busy (Milataristic and Expansionist....my favourite kind of AI opponent ).
Here is the newly founded Zulu embassy, as requested by the Foreign Ministry:
(please do not adjust your screen......nothing is exactly what we have with the Zulus....but in atawa's defence, the diplomat is on his way to the Zulu homeland, and moving through some of Atomants Mountains, may take a while to get there, if he survives the trip.
German Embassy:
(the Foreign Ministry is pleased to have discovered the Germans, and expect to poll on sending a dip or two in this direction, to establish an embassy forthwith).
Russian Embassy:
(we have yet to find the Russians, so I suppose an embassy is not only difficult, but impossible to establish...kinda putting the chariot before the horsemen here )
Polls to follow........though I see my fellow ministers are far ahead of me, I will endevour (sp?) to catch up. All in all not much changed for the Foreign Ministry, though I think the citizens should be pleased with the progress made this series of turns.
 President atawa
/me Foreign Minister

Maybe it's some new pseudo-American spelling, like theater vs. theatre.

Question asked, question answered.
Had he not asked, I would not have bothered.

We should have embasies with both Germans and Zulu next turn.
We can rush a dip from the yet to be founded city near Bonn.
I suspect Russians being located in between Greeks, Zulu.
It will take a long time taking over the Greeks, they have a fair amount of city's, SunTsu and have just gotten gunpowder from Russians

So we should wait for the Greeks' Sun Tzu Academy to expire before attacking them, at least.

Or we could just seize the wonder.
We would need Mobile Warfare to render Sun Tzu's obsolete.

The problem with seizing the Sun Tzu Wonder is that it is the very cause of the difficulty seizing it.
Maybe we could think about *bribing* Pharsalos when we can immediately place at least 4 defensive and 2 offensive units in it. And it wouldn't bribe cheap, either!
But Sun Tzu's will probably expire by the time we can do that.

Cash?
Just wait 'till the tithes start pouring in.
We may soon be able to afford Pharsalos.

If we can afford and can find it, I'll be glad to try and find a way to get to it. But I'd rather have Leo's than Sun's.

An excellent and informative report from our esteemed master of devilish wit in dealings with our intellectually bereft neighbours.
I notice that although the Greeks are reasonably behind us and the Americans in tech, they still have Gunpowder and Metallurgy. However, the best mounted unit they have is the humble Horseman. They are nasty near their cities, but if we caught them in the open we could carve them up.
