Hi guys. It is getting late and I have some 20 minutes to cast my vote. I have been away on business travel for the last two days, got back this evening fairly late, and have just now read this thread extensively. Unfortunately, I do not have the time, or right now the energy, to post my detailed thoughts or analysis.
My vote goes to Dominae. There were some excellent starts here, but this one is definitely a 'flying' start. I was humbled reading not just the game, but the analysis as well. Very good!
I guess, in summary, the way I looked at it, is if I was on this team, which start would I want to use to begin turn 41. Dom's is it.

The voting for the first turn block is finished and Dominae is the choice. Congratulations Dominae. The second turn block will be posted in a new DAR thread. Everyone will have 4 days to complete the second turn block. That means the DARs will need to be posted by 23:59 EST Monday the 22nd.

Well, I'm not sure what to think concerning this vote. I'm glad everyone thought I played well, but as alexman put it, mine is far from a "normal" game. So be it. Thankfully this is not a competition. My only fear now is that the game will be too easy, but heck let's just see how badly we can ram Monarch into the ground.
Time to serve up some UP, Arrian.

Gratz Dominae and to all! Good crew here. I learned alot from all the debates and what not on the opportunist thread.

Go ahead, make my day. (I DID put a smily!)

Thank you for your discussion and comments Taian and Master Zen.
I agree on Monarch level luxuries dont need to be first priority. I usually play on emporer and didnt adapt to that.
Concerning Damascus being on that hill I really liked that spot due to the comfortable defense position (which I now admit is probably useless on monarch level) and the possibily to build a city in 4 tiles distance to the north west coastline and to the south at the isthmus close the fishes.
Anyhow, I appreciate the comments.

Well damn that was close! I think the best start won, though.
I knew wide city spacing would probably mean my game wouldn't get picked, and I did it anyway. I'm stubborn like that.
I will be away (w/o Civ access) until Sunday evening. So hopefully I'll get my turns in either then or Monday after work.
Have fun fellas.
