I'm not going into details but the majority of people who make 6 figures are, a-hem, Mexicans, of which one will have a valid SS number and the others on his crew are family members, off the books. So take that $10/hour and make it $25-50 a day and you see how the margins increase.

Burn out rate on field managers is pretty low. Typically most managers are young people without kids, or older people whose kids are out of the house. A fair number of retirees do field managing work, which allows them to travel around the country in their RV's and get paid for the priviledge.
Your best field managers tend to be loners who like to travel.

Going from JohnT's earlier tales about his steepmother, I'd say that still makes it into a cold dish....
Keep going Johnny, a capitalist hero. Who would have known? Or will you turn into JR Ewing as soon as you can?

Look at all the sycophants looking to jump on to JohnT's success.
Course, if you ever need a web designer . . . (Just joking. I do not want to move to Knoxville.)

Check your PM's.
Btw, Krop and FG have been sympathetic to my situation since the first thread, so they aren't "jumping" on my success but are rather glad that I have extricated (sp) myself from a bad situation.

Congrats. I know it's been a long hard ride.
Hopefully the next road will be equally satisfying.

Now if you wanted to be a real vindicitive SOB you could buy out your parents' company in a year or two and then fire one or both of them.

Naw, if I want to be a REAL sob I could buy out everybody else, leaving them flapping in the wind, looking at the million$ that the others are getting, all the while knowing that none of it is coming their way.

I'm assuming he's talking about a contract from the US Telcom company "Sprint".

A contract with Sprint Publishing and Advertising, who was bought out by Rueben H. Donnelley last January. RHD put the Sprint contracts back up for bid because of the buyout, but more for the purpose of changing the wording on the existing contracts (i.e., having "RHD" appear everywhere it says "Sprint", having RHD's legal department review it, having RHD signatures instead of some ex-Sprint exec) than out of a desire to change vendors - I know because I asked.

Smart move, JohnT. I'm just wondering how people find biz opportunities in saturated markets like the US. Here, you just poke your finger randomly at anything and there's money to be made.

You find business opportunities by finding ways to be more competitive than everyone else. Thats what drives economies like the United States'.
