Turnlog: 1540-1620, The Quest for Fundi.
/me opens the usual 7 screens and starts playing.

1540:

Rushbuild Rifleman in Flood, change production in Sheol to cannon and rush it. Change production in plenty to Dip and Desolation to Library.
Archer in Desolation kills elephant that was stupid enough to stop his march at the gates
I decide to go against the MoW’s recomendation and dont try to kill the other elephant on the hill for two reasons:

1, We are down to 187 gold and need the money from the leader. (Planning to bribe back Phlegethon and dont want to stand at the gates empty handed.. )

2, Our fortified Musketeer (on river) can easily absorb the impact of one charging elephant , besides, even when it destroys the mine on the hill first it wont be a problem since its outside city radius and it will take ages before we use it.

Our Knight walks south into the grasslands and finds an advanced tribe containing both a temple and market

The city is renamed Paradiso.
A knight west of Paradiso finds 50 in a hut.

1550:

Americans change gouverment and want to talk. I check intel and find out they have become a Monarchy. They demand 200 gold to end the war.
Barb elephant dies at the gates of Desolation.

Plenty builds dip to bribe Phlegethon , Famine builds another settler. Zulu explorer walked all the way to Ruin . I decide to rush a Rifleman in Doom as it is undefended and there may be more explorers around.

We sign an end to hostility’s with Zulu but they refuse our offer of peace

A Musketeer is fortified as per the MoW’s request 2 steps south of Styx. As we have 4 units in Styx I decide to let the crusader join him so he can scout around every turn for dips and return to the rifleman.

There seems to be a major attack on Sheol, we kill 3 units but there are more coming. Fortunately our units are not wounded in battle

We find an almost perfect cityspot near Bonn, on a hill full of coal and surrounded by other hills and jungle. .

1560:
American chariot attacks Sheol . ShadowPalace builds barracks and changes to Library.
Two Greek knights near Pax Apolyton die by the hands of our own knight who becomes a vet A Greek cat approaches New Apocalyps but that’s fine as we are building a Crusader next turn.
All is quit around Sheol again

Our horse catches up with the Barbarian leader

Phlegethon is bribed back for the amazing amount of 72 gold, we get 7 back.

The Dip near Germans meets a Barb Crusader, somehow the Crusader doesn’t attack

1570:
Germans make themselves a target

Crusader from New Apolyton walks out and kills Greek cat + second unit. We have another meeting with an American delegation, this time they only want 50 gold for peace. The answer remains the same though

The city of Rammstein is founded but unfortunately our Horse find a large band of Barbarians in a hut

We bribe the Musketeer in the fort near Chicago

1580:

Nothing realy happens
Purgatorio builds temple.
A wondering Knight finds 100 in a hut. One of our dips in between Greece and Germany finds a Greek Cat , the other a hut

1590:

Famine goes into disorder Since it needs 1 elvis to keep out of revolt I change production to Dip. (It doesn’t have a food surplus anymore)
Plague starts Xinning.
We find the advanced tribe called Melkweg NNW of Paradiso, this must be our lucky session

It is!!!! The dip that doesn’t get killed by the Greek cat finds a nomad in a hut, the downside is the Barbarian crusader is back

1600:

For the second time our Dip chases away the Barb crusader

Rammstein is under heavy Barbarian attack. The defending Musketeer becomes a vet for his efforts

Greek cat demolished near Dominion.

I figure we can get fundi in 1620 (Next Oedo year) so decide to rush the Library in Desolation. Ore starts Xinning for the same reason.
City of Oryx founded west of Ore, I don’t change the worker because we are 2 turns from Fundi. We find the American city of Detroit with a Knight.
We find a Rifleman and an American settler west of Melkweg.

1610:

Desolation finishes Library, starts on Market. American chariot near Plenty, unfortunately the Crusader is ready next turn when I’m sure he wont be around anymore

We finaly make an embasy with Zulu’s

The American settlers west of Melkweg get butchered by our chariot who becomes a vet

1620:
Americans overthrow gouverment again, changing back to Rep
American chariot dies trying to invade Plenty.

End of session.

This was a good session, we bribed back Phlegethon, found/build 4 more city's and got to Fundi.

As we are in Fundi now we will have to rethink our next goals and objectives.
A lot of work has to be done in all Ministries but judging from their work on the previous turn I have total confidence in them to do a good job again

Now I hope I dont have to edit becouse this has way to many images again

/me President of the Apolyton Imperium.

Ps: On a personal note, I wasn't quite sure for a while to run for President becouse of the time consuming micromanaging and turnlog. But its actualy quite fun
(Especialy with the last polls indicating an end to Xinning )

Am I missing something about Barb Leaders here? Do you only get the gold when you kill them when they are alone? Do you not get the gold if they are stacked with another unit when killed?

Yes, If they are stacked you get no gold unless its 2 stacked leaders in witch case you only get gold for one leader.

I had the same concern the first time I played a session as President. While there are some additional duties and it can be more time-consuming on the session-day, the rewards are great and the personal satisfaction is high. It is also great relief to actually play a session on behalf of the whole group and survive!

Excellent! I wasn't sure the Crusader could be spared from martial law for that duty.

Hmmm... We might find a regular pattern of American Cannons arriving at Sheol. I'll look at this carefully and see if I can find a way to stop the parade.

Yikes! I sent the Knight to Pax because it seemed the weakest-defended city, but I sure wasn't expecting 2 Greek Knights to "visit". Generalized caution pays off again. LOL!

Catapaults don't worry me much so long as there is a 3 or higher attack unit around. Those Cats are way too slow; I never use them myself.

Then I apologize for suggesting we attack and kill the Elephant shielding the Leader I didn't realize that. I don't get after Barb Leaders much myself unless they show up alone. But as long as we got him (and the gold), great!

Why apologize? You didn't know yet so no harm done.

I apologize because I *should* have known that. It part of my job. But I thank President atawa for his kind overlooking of this failure on the part of his Minister.

I am examining the file for actions we should take immediately, and actions we can take for future value. It makes a difference now that we are Fundie!

Yeah, Paradiso was on the list, couldnt help myself with Melkweg.

The Americans had allready celebrated and turned Mon for a couple of turns. They also lost a city to us.
Not realy a surprise the Greeks have overtaken them on PG.

I like it. (I really wonder how many of the ministers would be able to pronounce it decently )

(the list can be used as guidance if you are out of names or something)

Its pronounced with 2x a sound as in leg.
(But I doubt even shade could get it right )

Both Paradiso and Melkweg are clubs/concerthalls in amsterdam.
