2194 Days of Hotseat!
Hey guys, download the newest version of Nemo's 2194 Days of War scenario and try this out. Try playing as one of the alliances... either Axis or Allies via a hotseat game. The Allies should probably be played as only 2 nations, either US+USSR or Britain+US or well... you get the idea.
This allows fow a much more in depth coordination between armies. You know, that feeling that you wish your AI buddy would fight better so as to releive some preassure off of you. I played this as the Axis, Japan being my main force. I was able to break into the US, held all of the west coast. I also destroyed the cities containing the Hoover Dam and the Los Alamos Lab.
Germany has taken Stalingrad, Rostov, Sevastopol, Baku, Moscow etc...Also SeaLion only produced the fall of Plymouth. I don't have the units to push into London.
I played it at a higher difficulty level than usual...which probably accounts for the challenge. I suggest stepping up dif. levels to all of you guys too, unless you play at diety...hmmm....
This isa good time, plus you don't have to sit through all those long AI moves. It's just a small grey window for 3 seconds that says "As the World Turns: AI Moves" But you have to carefully check what the AI has done each turn. That is the only detraction.

Hey Klesh! What up?
Anywho, I tried playing Second Reich (by MJ) in Hotseat as the allies. It was pretty fun, Germany fell by 1917...or was that 1916...ah well, either way. I tried a while ago to set up a multiplayer scenario game but no one wanted to play scenarios...they all wanted "the joy of building up an empire" ach...what about for us lazy folk?

I will play multiplayer with you in a scenario, Mao. I can never find enough people who want to play that way, though.

Funny...I try this from the Multiplayer forum and get like 1 response...I guess if I'd tried the S&D I'd have gotten more responses...
Anywho...Second Reich is a bit easy as the Central Powers. I took Paris by like the second year.

Hey guy, I'm certainly down for a Multiplay scenario!!! The WWII one will take forever because of the huge ammounts of units...I'll dl Second Reich and see what that one is like.
But you guys are missing my point, you should try this hotseat thing by yourselves... it adds a whole new element of strategy...
Email or ICQ me anytime for a bit of multiplayer. Let's see if we can get a nice round going here. Any takers?

I've always been up for scen multiplay. I remember last summer techumseh tried to get this thing started, but I missed it cos I was flying that day.
From what I remember, you should pick a scen with few units, and short turns. Either that or give people a lot of stuff to talk about while other people are moving.

Well I guess that no one is digging my hotseat idea, oh well.
If we tried 2194 Days of War, with 7 or 5 people(whoo wants to be China or Neutral?) a 1 month turn would literally take like 2/3 hours with the lag taken into consideration. 2194 would be the most fun multi, but I'll go and get Second Reich now...

You would have to make all diplomacy open if anyone was gonna play.

Hey Sten, thanks for the complement. I was hoping someone would see the benefits of Solo-Hotseat.
Fast Eddie, you are correct sir. I found it kinda tough not being able to talk to my "other ally" as I played.
But we must be very very careful when allowing diplomatic talks. If the wrong country is given a tech by an ally, you'll begin to see Japan building SS Stormtroopers, and England pumping out B17's. Unless Nemo could fill us in on the best way to allow diplomacy via changing rules, we could cause more problems than solutions...

I think your "solo-hotseat" idea is an awesome way to play two or more sides in an alliance. It make an enormous amount of sense.
Thanks for the great contribution!!

Well, if anyone read the readme.txt's in Second Reich you'll see that MJ suggested it
Ah well, but anyway, I don't think Second Reich would be good for multiplayer, way too many units, just a bunch of infantry crashing into each other. ...just like WWI

Just make the units obsolete by a certain tech that everyone else had.

I will draw up some multiplayer events, if you want me to, but they will depend on which nations are being played and stuff like that.

I would assume that 5 nations would be played: Germany, Japan, United States, England, Soviet Union.
No one should be playing the Neutrals or the Chinese.
There are specific events for each country when you play. Is it possible to have a "best of" events that contains major happenings in all theatres? ScottF, is this what you could do?
That way, we could all be updated on each other's progress. But what about event-given techs and units? Should we ask Nemo to do this because he knows the ins and outs of this scenario?

Hello, someone (Klesh I think) sent me this game but for the MacIntosh - can you do that again, I seem to have corrupted this scenario?
