Hmm, are we allowed to post pictures of that site? We generally can't mention the site that must not be named, so an image hosted by them is also probably taboo.

No older, it's from the late 80's and appeared for the PC, Apple and other 16 bit computers.

Just cross out the incriminating evidence on that picture of the "site that cannot be named" and your safe.

Not that I think I've played this one.

I didn't have a PC or Apple in the 80's. All I had was my Commodore 64.

No screenshot as this was a text adventure game available on the Radio Shack TSR-80*. I have attached a pic of the manual cover with the name pixelated out.
The game involved you waking up in a mental instituation and having to find some way of escape.
It was available in "cassette" format, which for all you youngsters out there involved hooking a tape deck up to your computer.
Doctor Spike is correct in that this game is far too obscure to be fair.
* AKA the "Trash 80"

Text adventure? The only adventure game taking place in a mental institution is "Sanitarium", but this one's only a few years old... and it defently wasn't a text adventure...

nice pic Static Universe - i would guess something along the lines of 'Sanitarium' as ADG said for that one.........BUT i think we still got to guess CapTVK's one haven't we?
I really like that pic - its hilarious, and i guess it should be 'asylum' - it seems to fit better.......that guy with the yellow laser eyes is great

I'm not so sure, I'm sure I've never played it because I was too young. I do recall reading tips and solutions for it in magazines and I think I know the name as well. If there was a canon for computer games this one would be in it.

There was a game called Asylum for the Trash 80 but it had graphics - one of my friends had a TRS-80 before we converted him to the way of the Commodore.
I think there was another one called "Institution" or "Institute" or something like that.

Yes, yes, mental institution based games were all the rage in the early eighties. No more clues until someone guesses CapTVK's game
