How Old Were You When You First Rode A Horse ?
I don't mean some Shetland Pony walking around in circles at a fair, either.

I don't think you fully understand the question, Osweld.

I was younger than 9 or 10, but 9 or 10 is pretty young.
I want to find this picture, well hell, it's got nothing in it about a horse, but the horse is in the area.
What was I saying?

Ok, Osweld, Gotcha. Regression.
Oh yeah, the picture.
Anyway, if I can find this picture, it's of me as a lad, out fishing at a stock tank outside Abilene.
You can see a cow, but you can't see the horse.
Got me my hat on, my boots on.
I'll find that picture. It's in a box in the garage.
I've been meaning to find that box for a while.

I can remember going to horse camp when I was in fourth grade so about 10 years old. It was fun riding the horses though cleaning out the stables really sucked.

I never rode a horse in public places. Apart from the obligatory (and excluded from the discussion) shetland ponies on fairs as child, I only once sat on a horseback. But that was indoor and the horse also went in circles, so I guess it doesn't count either.
I could try it now, as in the village where I live now are some horse growers, who rent out horses to ride and also give hours in riding.

I can't remember! I was little.
First and only time.
Slowwhand, not sure if this news reached you in Texas but in 1885, German mechanical engineer, Karl Benz designed and built the world's first practical automobile to be powered by an internal-combustion engine.

I was four. My mum broke a pony each for my sister and I. I grew up on horses. My mums family was very horsey. My grandparents ran a riding school and were well known horsemen. I mentioned earlier how they were riders in the movie the man from snowy river.
My sister, myself and our cousins used to fool around riding all the time. Riding bareback into the dams and swimming with the horses was the best.

I've only once ridden a camel and that was at a country fair where you pay $5 and get 5 minutes of riding on a camel. Though I do remember being 4 or 5 years old and trying to ride the family golden retriever. As I recall I made it five feet before falling off and banging my head.
