How often do you check your email?
I check mine every day, usually more than once. If I send an email I expect a reply within 24 hours.
Seems like some of my rl friends may not check theirs for up to a week and often longer. wtf.
How can they function without checking their email more often.
I guess this topic is also a reflection on those people we know who aren't as computer literate or obsessed as we are. What on earth do they do with their time?

Don't know. I opened this thread just after checking my email for the 19th time today.

I let my router check mail every 150 seconds and my computer rings, when mail arrives. That makes for a good PBEM pace . That makes 576 times per day.

The real email with the PBEM games and stuff, every 10 minutes or so.
The hotmail junk address, every couple weeks.

Hmm, turns out i'm the amateur. I'll check mine between 5-10 times a day but didn't want to put that in the original message for fear of being shown to be a freak.
All clear now though.

hand ful of times a day at max, sometimes I forget it
it's not like emails are the most important of all media for me, most communication I do on messengers today
used to get and send like 10 mails a day before I had ICQ, mostly to/from Apolytoners. then I got ICQ.

If I had to put a number on how many times I check my email, I would have to say over 15 times a day (but then, I've never kept track of how many times I check).

Let's see:
auto-check each 3 minutes (In the time my computer is turned on), this makes 20 times per hour... about 8 hours a day (on average), will make it 160 times a day...

we used to have auto check and internal server save too
the downside was I couldn't check email from other computrs because it was always stored on the server.

My regular pop accounts are checked automatically every few minutes and I get a symbol for new mail.
I check my hotmail account every couple of days unless I'm expecting something.

I check my hotmail account 2-3 per day though I never check my PMs here at Apolyton unless the front page tells me I have new mail.

At work, two or three times a day, even though I've only ever had about 5 emails there. At home, hotmail tells me when I get new mail, and the pop3 accounts maybe hourly.

You all fell for it! "Checking email" is slang and stands for the same as "Killing a kitten".
That said, I'm off to check my email

Outlook checks my mail every minute, when I'm online, so that's not even a question people should ask me

I never get many messages either, which makes it even more frustrating since I check it quite often.

Same here, but I turned the sound off on the computer so I didn't get the annoying "bling" everytime someone sends me something... So, I check it about once an hour. That way ppl think I am doing something and not just waiting for e-mails to reply to.

Maybe once a week if that often, the Yahoo junk account not so often, maybe once a month.
I don't play PBEM, I don't email correspond with any freinds of mine, pretty much when I do get on the email account I just delete the stupid notifications from Apolyton .
That's all.
