If you got drafted? Sure, they would have let you go...after the war though.

Ouch, I only have to pay 5% here and there's not much in the way of sales taxes...

You mean they're hypocritical enough to keep "faggots" as cannon fodder by ignoring their own policy?
But then, why should I be surprised of such hypocrisy?

Is the Department of Defense hypocritical? Of course.
The military's bottom line is what is best for the nation, not the individual. But then, who ever said that the US military was a democracy?

I have a part time job and am a full time student. I may get a second part time job and/or increase the hours of the first eventually.

I was without employment or classes for 14 months, though i was activelly looking for work for 8 of them. Now I have a job that pays crap, with at least 60 hours a week, but it is work, and I get to learn about politics...and visit the places of power in NYC, which are very unimpressive, but then this city has a bigger budget than most states.

Whether an institution is democratic or not that is not the point -- the point is, to what extent should an institution hold itself consistently with its own policy?
Even if its policy IS homophobic.

Here (Germany) it's around 10%. That's what they say, but they lie. The truth is probably much worse.

Indeed, you don't count those on "rehabilitation", for example, to keep people off the rolls. There are more examples. In fact, your unemployment is closer to 20%, fairly counted.

I dunno, supposedly low but the figures have been 'readjusted' with various stuff.
Well within the science sector, the government are perpetuating a very nasty lie. They claim they need more people there, that there is an employee shortage. This is a lie though. In my experience it has been very hard for science graduates to find jobs...

We in the US only count those looking for work as unemployed. Those that have given up aren't. I wonder what the true unemployment rate in the US is?

It's between 10 and 11% probably. It's been measured lately.
