Cross&Crescent released
Due to the last good reports of the testers, I decided to release the scenario now.
Ok, here is the link:
http://home.debitel.net/user/bbrosing/CrossEng.zip
(Umm, I tested the download, It works fine with Go!Zilla, but if you have only the IE, perhaps is better to use the "Save target as..." option )
The sounds are available on my (German) website, or in the "For Review" area of the SLeague this month.
I´m planning no new version in the near future, but all comments or suggestions are still welcome and will be useful, if I make an update later.

I'll add the English version to the reviews page when I update. (hopefully that will happen relatively soon now that my net access is working again)

OK, I started playing as the Brits. After about 4 turns, the Franks developed Hospitaler (sp?) Order. Is this supposed to happen?

Mhmm Mao, this sounds bad to me. It should NOT happen! Hospitaler Order? And they attack you with Hospitalers in the next turns? The first tech that they should discover is bookbinding or dukedom...
No other tester has reported such a problem and I started a new game shortly after I´ve read your post and all runs well...
Please, can you send me your savegame? It would help me a lot, if there is a problem with the techtree. ( I hope it´s not)
And blackclove, can you delay the addition of this version to the "For Review" section a bit until it´s clear that it has no serious bug?

Mao, I received the savegame, but I can´t load it (Civ2 says something like "file has a higher version...").
Have you MGE? I´ve only FW. Some testers have reported that they can play it with MGE without any problems (which was nice to hear), but some had problems under MGE.
Therefore, I recommended this scenario only for FW, as said in the other thread.
Normally, the Franks shouldn´t been able to discover the Hospitaler Order without a special event, but this event should not appear before the English have their Hospitalers, which should be impossible after only four turns. There are several other techs needed to get the Hospitalers...
I know no other reason for this problem as the different civ versions.
Has any other player noted some strange techology effects? Even with FW?

That should be no problem. There is a bug in the game itself that randomly says that specific civs get a specific tech or make peace with other civs although that doesen't happen. (For example, In JPetroski's "Anstieg/Aufstieg", the Soviets develop some tank or so every turn although it doesen't happen). My suggestion would be either to check the French intelligence, or, if that's impossible (haven't played the latest version) switch to the French via cheat mode and check that out.
Once again, its a game bug that occurs quite often.

Thanks Stefan, I hope this is the solution!
Mao, could you follow Stefans advice? Please, enable the cheat mode, select the Franks as human player and look into their cities. Are there Hospitalers available in the production menu?
And thanks PolarisGL, you saved my day...

Yeah...I opened cheat, revealed map, and the Franks have more hospitalars running around than I do! And then I switched human players to the Franks, and could still build hospitalars...maybe I'll try under FW.

The problem did not come across my eyes. However, to fix it, make it so the tech is a no,no tech, so no one can research it. Then give by events to all civs, as opposed to just the French.
Excellent scenario, might I add!

Ok, I asked two other (FW) players via e-mail about techtree problems, and they answered that everything works fine.
If no other players reports an error I would say that this version runs correctly under FW. (I think everytime I say something like this a new problem appears, I hope that someone can review this scenario without any problems, otherwise I´ll accept a 0/30 rating... ))

BeBro, did you draw all of those units, icons, etc? If so, they are excellent. I know the cities are from Momjr in the Civ2 scenarios though (at least the little homes are).

Yes, PolarisGL, nearly all of the graphics are created or modified by me.
I´ve drawn most of the units, the people, some of the cities and lots of icons. Some icons were also created by using scanned images.
Some graphics (mainly terrains) are from ToT, and a few units and icons are modified from Harlan´s collections

Please, call me George.
Alright, great; I am using the terrain in my scenario, which will be up later tonight if I can find some playtesters. Hope you do not mind.

While playtesting, Mao and Fast_Eddie found a bag of bugs along with myself. Do not expect the scenario any time soon, or for sure not tonight.

George, feel free to use any graphics you like from Cross&Crescent.
What kind of scenario do you make? Ancient, medieval or a completely different thing?
By the way, my name is Bernd

Oh, ahem! Well, sorry . I was just kidding. But really, sentences like "Call me Bernd!" sound really a bit strange to me, especially when they're translated into German ("Nenn misch Bernd! Tuff!").
In fact I don't consider anyone here to be gay. It was really a joke! I think you fellows know that.
Will you make more interestíng and well-arranged scenarios, BeBro? It would be anhonor for me to be allowed to translate another scenario like Cross&Crescent.
Well then. Me go now.

Don´t worry, Andz, I know that is was a joke (as well as my answer )...Soviel Humor hab ich schon, da bin ich nicht gleich eingeschnappt.
And your help will be still welcome, especially for the English version of Imperium Romanum 2.0
