Pool Table Preference
Would you rather shoot pool on an 8 foot pool table, or the smaller bar-sized pool table?

Doesn't matter as long as it's flat.
Which my university has a problem delivering.

Flat isn't the option, and this is a serious inquiry.
Assume both will be flat.

Big is good, assuming you have the room to comfortably play pool on it. Cue + wall behind you makes for an annoying game.

Ok. Also assume space constraints is not an issue.

Bigger is better, but they are more expensive than smaller tables. I don't really know which one is better, given that.

You people are ****ing worthless.
The pool table is in a huge barn.
Maintenance of said table isn't your worry.
Neither costs money.
Both are ****ing flat.
What the hell else?

Are the surfaces different colors? I prefer green to red and I don't really know what the two tables look like...

Large table. Always opt for the larger one. Small ones are fine until you decide to get serious.

Alright, I'll stop you big baby.
I'd go with the large one. Just plays better all around with more room to work with.

You can also buy refurbished for decent deal. Just make sure it's delivered, leveled and the slate underneath the fabric is relatively intact.

Bigger ones take more skill. If youre getting owned by your friends, then you should stick to the small one

Let me get this straight:
Both are free
There is plenty of room to hold the table
And you needed this thread to help you decide which one to pick?
And I thought the Texan state motto was along the lines of "Mine's bigger than yours" . . .

I started playing snooker before playing pool, so I'm comfortable with playing on big(ger) tables.

The table is equal to both players; Sloww just has a 6' cue.

I said it before, I'll say it again.
Worthless.
No wonder so many don't understand Iraq, if you can't even answer a simple question like this.
Herd of jackasses.

I like the bar sized better. But I like them both.

the bigger one, i suppose, would be better for some, ah, non-pool-regulation activity with certain other people of the opposite gender?

make sure the cloth is absolutely the best there is. nothing ruins a good shot than a piece of lint that crops up.

You have to remember to put in good lighting as well. One of those fixtures that hangs over snooker tables is the best.

Is somebody going to start paying attention to the apoplectic Texan telling us that we don't understand his thread, or should we just continue discussing felt quality?

After he brought up the US Invasion of Iraq, it seems pretty clear who's feebleminded around here.

It's so freakin easy to run the table on those tiny bar tables. The large ones actually take some skill to play on.
Small bar tables = suck.

Morons. I have morons on my team.
Ok morons, here's the deal.
The American Legion has an offer for an 8' mahogany pool table.
Currently, there's a beat to hell bar sized table being used.
Amazingly, the Commander is prepared to turn down the offer; and there's no reason getting all into the discussion about they whys and crap.
I was under the misguided impression I could survey you jackasses to make my point.
What a laugh riot that thought was.
13 votes, and more bullshit answers by far than votes.
Thanks for your consideration and help.
Morons.
