What's the Furthest You've Ever Played To?
Just curious. I mean like after landing on AC and all, do you keep playing? The longest I've gone to was 2100 something or other, just for the hell of it.

I didn't even know you could go past 2020. I think 2020 was the futhest I played to.

Of course you can go past 2020! Scoring will be over, but you can still play.

Mao:
Since you've played after Alpha Centauri, have you ever encountered a situation where the AI subtracts money from *your* account when conquering a foreign city?
I've had that happen to me twice now, always after 2020 and when the AI civs have lots of money in their accounts.
As for me, obviously I've played past 2020. It can be lots of fun ... but tedious, too, if you've allowed foreign powers to expand to continent-size civilizations. It takes quite a bit of effort to conquer an entire continent .

I think I played to about 3000AD on the original Civ, when I was doing exceptionally well on this one particular game (nukes by 1800, AC by 1950). It`s the best I`ve ever done, believe me.

AC by 1950? What level of difficulty? On emperor I did it in 1936! On chief I can do it around 1800. It quite easy! Anyways I never went past 2020 cause its pointless, I already have colonized everything by about 1950 with over 2000, and farmed every acre of land so there is no point is playing.

Cyber, I think that's only happened to me once. Strange though, since I think I have virtually the same amount of money in each game more or less.

That's good, at least in the sense that it means I'm not seeing things that aren't there . Must be some type of rare bug which rears its ugly head now-and-then.

About 5,000 miles. I started a game on my laptop in New Jersey, continued it on the laptop in Sedona, AZ, and finished it back home in NJ. I'm sure others have played games lasting more like 25,000 miles...
For a multiplayer game, I suppose the "furthest" would be half the circumference of the earth. Any records?

Longest I've layed was Civ1 til year 2022. I just was so extremely angry that I had conquered almost whole world except couple of pathetic German cities when the retirement came that I just had to take them...

I have a Fantastic Worlds Mars scenario game that is currently on year 1082 -- the equivalent of 2682 AD in the original game.

Everyone:
This is just a test post ... please ignore. Which is kind of hard, admittedly, if you're reading this statement .
