Dear all,
As STYOM mentioned in the other thread I'm in the middle of a RL crisis right now and wont know beforehand if and when I can play turns/be online.
In this light I have allready asked STYOM to play the next turn and sadly have no other option then to resign from the presidential election
I would like to thank the ministers and citizens in their support over the last month and hope I can have the time to join you all again soon.
regards
atawa

Best hopes to you in regard the RL problem. I can only hope that things work out for you. Return when you can; you will be missed.
Kind of feels like a crappy election now... And I feel badly that atawa had to withdraw. It would have been great to have a spirited campaign for the Presidency, but "**** happens".
Going on from here, my intent as candidate for President (there's always the dreaded banana), is to press the fight onto the Americans at Washington, then New York, to capture the Wonders there. It may turn out that we need to capture some intermediary American cities or not.
As current SMC, the Citizens decided not to attack the Zulus. I will *hope* that changes because we have the forces ready to roll over them. But I will, of course, only follow the desires of the Citizens.
I will watch the borders with the Greeks intently, to try to lessen the incursions from those aggressive people.
I will mind our technology research. I think this can be improved somewhat through some very selective city production. We can steal much tech using Diplomats, but I like to stay ahead a bit. Every tech helps (if only to get to a better one).
Gold is a great benefit of being in Fundie government. I will make sure to use it as best possible. Bribing and rush-building can be of great help to us. I will consider the possibility of celebrating under Fundie, though I will not promise it will help much. Still, every attempt to gain in the game should be explored.
We have no current candidate as City-Planner. I still hope for one, and I promise to ask active particiapnts to take on the job. But if none will, I've done that job before and iot comes naturally to me to check each city for best Worker positioning and production goals.
In short, I will do my best, with the help of the Ministers, to move our civ along to its ultimate goal of world conquest as efficiently (and craftily) as possible.
But I'll still miss atawa not being part of this election campaign.

I didn't realize you were going to have to withdraw from the election entirely, atawa. Hopefully you can be back soon... and sorry if I caused any confusion with this poll.
That said, go bana- errr, cavebear.

HTower, you want to be cityplanner/science minister?
At this time both of these positions are open.

Glad to see you back. I was just wondering last night where you had gone too.
As apparent President-To-Be, I am pleased to offer you either the City-Planner or Science Minister positions. We need a City-Planner more than Science Minister (we're in Fundie, so tech research is not our biggest issue).

Well, isn't there another contested position? I'll let the loser of that take his pick since he actually went through the whole election process.

H Tower - Since the only contested position was FM (atawa withdrew from the Presidential race for RL reasons), and he (Ben Kenobi) offerred you a choice, I wanted to give it (to-be) Presidential support.
Based on your response, I am pleased to give Ben Kenobi his choice of cityplanner/science minister positions if that means you will take on the duties of the other position.
With both of you accepting one of the uncontested Minister positions (and I consider atawa to be VP, at least for now), that will give us a full Cabinet with no individual filling 2 positions.
So, the actions required - Ben Kenobi needs to let me know whether he chooses to be City-Planner or Minister of Science (and if neither, I have more work to do, so I hope it is one or the other). Then I need H Tower to accept the remaining Minister position.
I will send out copies of the 1784 file to all the Ministers as soon as these decisions are made (and the elections are officially over, of course).
The ball is now in Ben Kenobi's court...
Post-script... The elections are not over, and things can change before the FM elections are done. If the lead changes, replace "Ben Kenobi" with "ljcvetko".

While our soon to be returning President is essentially correct here, I would hope that the Historian position will again be filled, especially at this historic times.
I for one thought Atomant did a great job at the job of Historian and hope he returns to active posting so that he can retain this position. Failing that, I hope that another citizen will step up and take on that role, as we are soon to lose a great part of the history of the 3rd Democracy Game and I hope that we don't allow this to happen.

Htower:
The position that I really wanted was foreign minister, that is why I ran for that position, and not another one.
Besides, I'm only one vote down and the FM elections have not yet closed.
Take whichever position you want, and I'll take whatever's left assuming that I lose the foreign minister election.
