Patrician 2 or Tropico 2
I just bought both on a 2 for 1 deal. Which should I play first? Which is better?

Jydging from what I've heard - and bear in mind that I've only played Patrician II - I'd go with that one. Most posters here have posted negative comments about Tropico II.
Maybe except Spikey??

If you have the Patrician 2 addon, it's a decent game. Never played Tropico II.

Well Tropico 2 probably is worse than its predecessor with the expansion, but Patrician2 I didn't like at all. Overall I'd say I hope Makeo picked this combo up cheap.

No not too cheap. My store has a ten day return policy though.

May as well get some play in before the 10 days run out, to see if either of the games grabs you.

I have heard nothing good about Tropico 2, that's why I went with Port Royale over it (very good game). Patrician II and Port Royale seem to have very similar engines.
Course they're finishing up Patrician III and Port Royale II right now.

If you have Tropico I, it probably isn't worth getting Tropico II.
Don't know about Patrician though

Superceded by Medieval Total War now, but still a very playable game.

Isn't Medieval inferior to EU? And both totally different from Shogun?

MTW is not totally different to STW..........dunno where you would get that idea.
MTW is quite different from EU, though not inferior.

M:TW is absolutely inferior to EU IMHO. That will say, if you don't play the game just to battle. That's the only part M:TW is any good(though I don't like to play like that). EU2 is much better as a game overall. So much deeper and accurate.

Nikolai is right, Total War is not a good grand strategy game, it's only real point is commanding the battles. (which is very nicely done) Otherwise it's little more then a simplistic board game.
