New Scenario under construction!
Yeah, you read right! I am up to create a new scenario which will be some kind of alternate Post Cold War world situation.
Basic Information
After the collapse of the economies of the Western World the Soviet Union has won the Cold War. Democracy and Capitalism are retreating all over the world while Communism and Socialism is spreading all over the planet.
The collapse has rendered the United States´ sophisticated alliance system obsolete, NATO, the WTO and SEATO are no longer existing, the only remnant of former American power is a Security Treaty with Canada, forming some kind of North American Empire. Germany has been reunited under Soviet guidance while the People´s Republic of China has annexed Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula and wants also the last remaining symbol of Western dominance, Hong Kong, back to challenge the Soviet Superpower though its alliance with the Kremlin. The rest of the former European Communities, France, the Benelux countries, Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom have allied themselves with parts of the former British Commonwealth, South Africa, Asutralia and New Zealand to some kind of weak Western Confederacy which is trying to withstand the Soviet pressure. India itself is fihting a bloody civil war between Democrats and Red Insurgents all over the Indian sub-continent. The Red Revolution in Brazil only a few weeks after the collapse of the United States saw the proclamation of the Federal Socialist Republic of Brazil whose leader vows to reunite South America under the Red Banner.
Many other countries in Africa, Asia and Europe are remaining neutral, struggling with communist insurgencies and economic problems and there are also some nations left that also the Soviet Union considers as Rogue States.
Please check out this link to the CDG Civ2 Site for more information on the project and leave any ideas, suggestions, comments, etc either here at Apolyton or at the CDG forum.
Stay tuned!

What about put in a Che-'liberated' Argentina, Cuba and maybe Peru and some other country to 'free' the rest of South America...
it could be interesting to have multiple fronts...

Where's that Ottoman scenario, Jim?
I've already lost track of the countless "what if" ww2/post ww2 scenarios, probably because they're all the same in graphics as well as playability.
It's time for ambitious projects to return to the scenario community!

I've got to agree with Valuk, Jim. Curt has done an excellent post-war alternative history scenario and there are dozens more in various stages of completion it seems. What will you do to make this any different?
Where are the Fall of Rome, or for that matter Rise of Rome scenarios? The conquests of Islam and the Ottomans, and their struggles against the Byzantines and Persians? How about the Habsburg-Valois conflicts, The Italian Wars, the six-day War, the Seven-Years War, Thirty-years War, 100-Years War? The English Civil War or the American Civil War? The Spanish War of Succession, the Austrian War of Succession? The Franco-Prussian, Franco-Austrian, Austro-Prussian Wars? The Boxer rebellion, the Indian Mutiny?
I'll shut up now in case you point out maybe I should get off my arse and do one of these myself

Trouble is, these topics are not completely original:
I really enjoyed Mark Laanen's scenario about that topic.
I think BeBro's can't be beaten

Boxer? S*it! I was reading/typing too fast and I didn't notice it. Allard created a scenario about the Boer War, not the Boxer War
(well, It's almost the same... China, South Africa... who cares? )

I think the perfect WW2 scenario is still to be made.
2194, ZWK and many others have came close.
But that magic mix of graphics and gameplay are elusive.
But I know of one or two creators on CDG and Poly SL who are cooking up a few XX century surprises for the community.
I wanted to take a break from the world of the 1940s, that is why I am working on Bitterfrost...It doesn't have a gun in sight.
(OK, it has one blunderbuss unit, and an arcane laser troop...But that's all!)
I think the SL and CDG communities are making some totally superb work right now!
Everyone should reflect for a moment on how great a game CIV2 is!

Still a lot of the scenarios for WWII are so large that they become too tactical.
What I'd like to see is a minimap version that can be played in a short amount of time.

Jasev: you are absolutely right that all these periods of history have been covered, but often by only one or 2 scenarios, and in many cases not for a long time. There are about 5 or 6 'alternative post-ww2' scenarios in the making.
BTW, you forgot to list Capt Nemo's ACW scenario!

And not one single (and proper!) scenario for the cold war, or the 20s, or the imperial age...

Acedemia released a Cold War scenario, I think, then there's Exile's Imp1870 and Carl Fritz's Brown Man's Burden or Allard Hoffelt's River War for the Victorian Imperial age. The 20's are a bit sparse though, unless you have ToT; Techumseh has Warlords in the offing.
