Are quarrels bad or good for a relationship?
Some people I know assert that they never quarrel with their other half.
Is this good or bad for a relationship?

Is that from personal experience BeBro?
So it is good not to have quarrels? Since it is inevitable to have conflicts, I'd thought quarrels are like safety valves.

No, if all they can do is scream. Yes, if they can both listen to each other.

No quarrels means either no involvement or one member allways ending up drawing the short end of any deal, leaving a lot of frustration.

yes, or to be more precise, testing times are good for relationships. If they're for good, they'll last, if they'll collapse, did you really want it in the first place?
This is nice in theory, of course. Reality is quite different.

It's all about how they're fought, how they're resolved, and what they're about. In general, when they aren't screaming affairs in which truly hurtful things are said, there is satisfactory resolution, and they aren't about nitpicky details, they can really strengthen a relationship. Otherwise, I think they serve as a demonstration of why that couple shouldn't be together.

Are relationships without fights and quarrels less passionate, or is it just a matter of characters of the persons involved?

they can be good or bad
if both sides are just talking at each other, bad
if each person is willing to compromise and help the other get what they want, good

Been with my wife nearly 12 years, married for 7 of those. We've never quarreled.
If you think that's unusual, my parents have never quarreled in 40 years together. Assuming there are quarrels in every marriage is a fallacy.

Why do you think a country famous for tentacle porn rapes created Hamtaro?

What are your definitions of quarrels?
I can't imagine myself getting into a quarrel... I'm too mellow.

Quarrels are normal, but they don't have to be. If you pay attention to each other, stick to your committments, and talk things out before potential problems arise, then you should have quarrels. For those of us in the real world, however, there are going to be times when we aren't perfect and things blow up. Just try not to be hurtful and work to resolve, not win.

Quarrels are AWFUL! They mean that the wife hasn't accepted God's sovereign ordainment of her husband as her superior. She should shut up and obey, and the relationship would be perfect. Even in dating, before marriage, a woman should understand what her role should be. If she argues with her husband, she disgraces herself.
Husbands should love their wife/s, but be firm when the wife/s start to complain.
