In future, what is the e-mail adress to which I send the turn?
|
This is what I used to do. I emailed the link to Archaic and GT.
Edit:
It appears that apolyton automatically deletes the "http://apolyton.net/" part.

I keep wondering why just subscribing to the thread isn't a good enough notification for Archaic - its been working reasonably reliably these days (knocking on the provervial wood) and if you know the name(s) likely to be sending the turn you're looking for there aren't too many false alarms. While in this game we customarily email the turn as a courtesy in addition to posting it (mostlly due to some bad spells at Poly near the beginning of the game), that doesn't seem to be standard practice. In general, I assume that most people subscribe to the turn threads of the PBEM's they're playing in or otherwise want to stay on top of. Even if you are expecting an email, you get twice as much chance of noticing the turn with a subscription.
As long as people don't spam the turn thread too much (like this post ) the subscription thing isn't much of a burden considering the level of real spam going around these days.

JDM: Since Archaic stared this as a normal PBEM he said he would like it emailed to him, since he doesn't check this forum often. I have so many Apolyton.net emails that I quite often just delete them. IMHO, as his team is a normal PBEM, emailing seems appropriate.

Turn done.
Watch out for the reload error. I was playing my turn, saved for The Hive to review.
Then, out of the pure absence of my mind, I pressed end turn and saved a copy for the University, apparently ignoring the potential of my teammates to contribute.
Noticing a contribution, I opened my file again, made it, saved, and once again automatically saved a Uni file, ignoring the ability for further contribution.
I have since slapped myself fot my incompetence, in not realising that this is a -team- game >_<.
I won't post it until I'm -sure- my team has had a chance to contribute.

Well there it is.
And I'm not pressing END TURN in future until my team has had a thorough look at the file!

Archaic has been defaulting in several games recently as a matter of interest.

If the PUT continues to do so, extreme measures will be taken.

Tass: You have read Archaic's thread regarding his absense? IMHO if someone is playing a game as a PBEM, and is recovering from an accident, leniency certainly seems due?

I've already recovered from the accident actually. I was unable to play the turn this time around because of a freak set of storms which left half the city without power. Scarily enough, these were almost 30 years to the day after storms which caused a flood that literally covered the entire city in water. Hopefully we won't be having more storms like it.

I'm really sorry, but I've just had something personal come up, and it looks like I won't be able to play tonight So sorry. I have given authorisation for any CyCon to play the turn and post it. However if no-one is available, I should be able to play tomorrow.
I really must apologise for this, but it is unavoidable

Picky, picky, picky .....
Must have been a knot on the line, defunct forum or cosmic radiation hitting the exact location where the file was stored. Besides we grand strategists have more important things to do than paying attention to such minor details as sending the file to the next player.

Oops sorry. I've played the turn as the back up turn player. Somebody in the team would post it as soon as possible. We still have some time don't we?

Here it is. I apologize for the delay. I was busy today and didn't know that nobody was going to post the turn. Email also sent to Archaic.
