Disputed Territories of Auldoninna
The noise was thunderous! People from all over the lands of Apolyton turned their heads skywards to see this amazing sight. High over head descending from the clouds was a whole nation being transported from across the seas, out of the East PAcific region, flew the large industrial helicopters, dragging underneath them the lands of the Auldoninnas.
A suitable vacant section of ocean was found and the new natio ndescended and finally came to rest. The tie wires were removed and without warning the helipcopters dissapeared out of sight.
The peoples of Auldoninna were mildly surprised at this occurance, but so many other amazing things hasd occured in there short history that this was just yet another.
And so began the history of The Auldoninnas within Apolyton.

The people of Auldoninna were flourishing under there great governemnt, or so the government reports stated. There were no disenters al lwere happy, more Gerbil recipes were being released daily and there absolutly was no shortage of Gerbils, Rumours of the Gerbil being extinct were just that stated the latest Government reports. Exploration into uncharteted islands had revealed an abundance of Gerbils. The daily ration of 5 gerbils per family though would b emaintained til lfurther notice.
The government wold also like to report the succesful integration of all Businesses into the government, CEO's now hold ministerial positions and this makes for cost savings as we no longer hav eto pay our government ministers as thy all have jobs already. This is another great achievement brought to you by your friendly government.
Further the government wishes to thank all its loyal citizens for upholding all the latest government inititives especially the "Clean the streets" campaign, the use of the modern toilet has seen the streets much cleaner recently.

The Disputed Territories of Auldoninna is a huge, safe nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 492 million are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 58%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Book Publishing and Uranium Mining.
Government police forces protect public schools from the threat of protest, the nation is ravaged by daily union strikes, military spending recently hit a new high, and smoking is banned in public areas. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Auldoninna's national animal is the gerbil, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the banana.
Auldoninna is ranked 69th in the region and 50,958th in the world for Most Liberal Nations.
