To play WW2 soldier...
I am interested in playing a WW2 scenario that focuses on Europe but not the Red Front. I want to play the Allies and be a challenge to develop new techs and to conquer the Axis. I looked through all of the WW2 scenarios at sleague, csc and zigg and want to know which ones do you recommend I play, knowing that some of them could be out-dated?

I would recommend:
1) 1293 Days of War by Alex and Capt Nemo
2) BlitzKrieg
3) WWII by Harlan Thompson (he also did a great one about the Pacfic War called WWII: Pacific)
And many others...

IIRC that first one is 2194 Days of War.

Michael Jeszenkaa's Third Reich has a playable Allied scenario that begins in 1943 (I think).

After thoroughly reading about each of these and loading some of them up, I settled on Third Reich. I think this will give me the most fun playing the Allies. Thanks for the advice.

Boooooooo!!!
2194DaysofWar is where it's at. Either US or British Empire both provide an excellent challenge. By the time you've got a good-sized force, Hitler has got Kingtigers to mow you down with.

IMO, my interpretation of the reviews of 2194 (and reading the txt files) is that it is not fun to play the British. Since America is a separate civ, it also not fun to play. Third Reich is better for what I want to play since you play as the Allies (British/America/India/etc), which offers a balanced play against the Axis, with the Soviets and others thrown in for good measure.
All of the custom WW2 scenarios I looked at are quite good, I chose Third Reich because that was what I was exactly looking for,
