How can we increase our money per turn?
We're already building colosseums and banks in almost all of our cities.
Should we now proceed to cathedrals, or have we had enough of economy improvements and should concentrate on military instead?
I say we keep building economy in most of our cities until the discovery of tactics. We’ll see after that.

Can we instead build more science improvements?

Stuttgart is either directly south or north of Cannae (ours). Considering the German Dragoon on the south side of Cannae, I will guess it is south. But we have Fanatics entering both areas, so we should know soon.
It seems that Stuttgart is on the edge of the German civ, so bribing it might be worth the effort and cost. Holding it might be more likely, since we could post sentries to ward off Dip. And Mike's Chapel would be of far greater value to us than Sun Tzu's (Pharsalos, Greek). It would cost more to bribe, but I think it would be worth it.
Finding and taking Stuttgart would be an excellent project to undertake.

I think our best improvement (to improve our science rate) would be to change the taxrate to 50-50-0. We would drop the tech research rate from 29 turns to 14 turns and still get 450G per turn (instead of 650G).

Sounds like the tax adjust would be best - I was going to point out we had, over ten or so turns an increase of maybe 2-300 gpt! I don't think we need worry about increasing it any faster! Just keep on bribing and building those Temples.

I like the sound of the Stuttgart plan. As far as I can see, it would be worth more than Pharsalos to us, and would deny the Germans an important wonder. The loss of Sun Tzu to the Greeks would just make them pitiable, rather than rubbish, but to take Mike's from the Germans would weaken them and make us much, much stronger!

Definitely. If we can bribe the city.
I sternly recommend against increasing the science rate, instead, we ought to celebrate all of our cities. The extra trade will recoup what we lose in cash, and increase our science rate.

What taxrate would be required for how many cities to celebrate?

60 lux
ALL CITIES EXCEPT:
Sheol
Apollonia
Nognix
50 lux
ADD
Idefix
Nognix
Obelix
40 lux
ADD
Washington
Outpost
At 40 lux
Washington celebrates with Bank, all others with Marketplaces. So with a bit of investment we can pull this off.

The shady character that we have leading our armies has great plans it seems. Unfortunately, all of these plans will end up costing us loads of money!
Can we have some kind of decision as to where we should be spending our money first, as Shade's got his eyes on blowing loads of money against the Zulus, Americans, Greeks and Germans and the budget will never cover all those bribes.
This will infringe on his territory, but can we decide on who to attack and in which order and then we will be able to find the funds to pay for each war in turn.

You can leave Germans and Greeks of that list
(Americans-> no cash plans: conquest plans
Zulu's are the only for which I have 2 cities on the bribelist(popular request is to put Swazi on that list to )
Stuttgard might be a good idea of bribing, Pharsalos I personally don't think is worth it)
The shady character leading our army

simply adjusting the tax/science/lux rate to 80/10/10 will net us another 7 gold per turn. This would be acceptable if we agree to steal Tactics from the germans who are currently researching it. We could keep churning out money and let the germans research tactics for us, of course this means fighting a tactics equipped Germany, but I don't see how we could keep them from tactics anyways based on the current lack of roads and railroads into inner Germany

Q: How many turns will it take them before they reach Tactics? 5 or 50?
We will have it in 7 turns.
Yes in 7 turns we could miss out on about 1000G, but how many units will go to waste in our current wars which would have survived if they got their upgrade?
(the attack on atlanta is based on this assumption, bribe it? would cost us some 800G=> our rofit goes down to 200G...about the price of a diplomat )
