I second that. They are both very touching pictures. Very original, as a choice.

Both pictures are awesome.
The first is more well-known, though. My personal preference is with the second.

DISCLAIMER
Before we start a discussion if I could have taken the name from FMK´s new project I want to declare something: I didn´t know anything about your project, FMK. I never would have taken the name you chose for my scenario. I would say I was only faster in releasing/working the scenario out.
I am an Austrian and German is my mother tongue. I read a lot of literature concerning Hitler, Fascism and the 3rd Reich (I am studying History, btw) and so the term 'Götterdämmerung' ('Twilight of the Gods') is more common to me than to you I suppose.
Btw, keep up that good work!

I would use the image of the young artillery NCO on the Eastern Front.
It sums up the mess Hitler made of the German war effort.
In my mind, Götterdämmerung, is Jim P's scen name.
No big deal should be made about it.
Also, I would say that there must be many words in the English and German languages that FMK could use instead of 'Götterdämmerung'.
Picking a scen name is the easiest part of any CIV2 process, it's the bug-hunt that is the pain...

Of course. I mentioned in the opening post that you, unaware of my project, made your name public before me. No sweat at all. I only posted the two title.gifs to see which people prefered. The text on the images was from when I made them awhile back. I didnt remove the words from them because I thought it was clear that I was not going to use that title plus the fact that I am lazy.

Yes, I am trying to make as little deal about it as possible.

You got that right.
As for the title.gifs. The artillery pics is great as if gives me the 'what has happend, how could this be?' type of feel. Like this one guy who probably believed the war was to be won, now has had his hopes, dreams, country and very learyl his own life destroyed [Like hopefully your civ will be ingame]. The 2nd one gives me more of a 'The centre of evil is now reduced to a charred hulk (just like whats about to happen to you ingame)' type of feel. You know, the player sees that first, and its pretty clear he's not going to win. The children swimming nicely offset the vibe that used to come from that place.
I like em both, lol. Thats why theres 2 to choose from.

I am eager to play and see if things on the warzone are as hardcore as FMK is promising!
I am sure some player among the Poly ranks will be victorious as the axis!

I should be paying more attention to scenarios. A lot of great maps are slipping past my radar.

Rob, I'd go with the first picture, for the simple reason that the second one is really creepy
BTW, if the scenario is to be playable as the Germans, how are you planning on getting the Allies to run a sensible campaign? Getting the AI to pull off Overlord would probably be like teaching a cat to drive

*mutters something about the German Army sharing the blame, and something about how the German war effort was totally stuffed from day one*

Make D-Day an event that creates units, lots of units. It could take place whenever one of the coastal cities is taken.

Actually a D-day event would be cool if it was triggered by a tech, instead of a specific turn.
Units that are created by a technologyreceived event trigger are created every turn, unless the JUST ONCE trigger has been applied. So how about you have something like 20 units created on D-Day, of which 6-7 are created very turn afterwards?
hope my english was clear..

Greetings,
I have not touched civ in some time now. I have had wierd goings on in my life that dictated my departure from alot of what I enjoy to deal with some difficult things. I am 'back' for the time being to enjoy apolyton and to try to get into civ a bit again. I will very likely continue on this project as it is quite promising.

the draft of this (just plains, oceans and rivers) can be found on my site at www.bazzle.co.uk
Could you send me a copy of your map, rules and terrain at unite_and_conquer@hotmail.com
That map you used looks pretty big, i could use it as a basis for terrain
please send it to me

Welcome back Rob I hope your real life stuff is sorted.
This scenario being 'quite promising' is a huge understatement

I'm very glad to see you back Field Marshal Klesh. By the way, I've played Stalingrad and I haven't had so much fun since the first time I played Red Front. Will you finish that scenario? It's really great.
