He mearly narrowed the possible locations from a handfull of tiles to the adsact tile, our cruisers would
still easily have scouted that area and found the foil without Googlies help.

found yes possibly, indeed likely, but killed not necessarily

Furthermore the whereabouts of our foil probe was causing deep concern (from the thread posts) in higher Cycon ranks. To the extent that, from the comments in the threads, there were hints about obtaining the info (about its whereabouts) via other methods: even Maniac asked how that was possible. In the end Googlies decision to reveal the co-ordinates stopped that line of enquiry/approach.

Oh I assure you it would have been found and killed the only differnce is how much searching the Cruiser would need to do and how far away from its next objective it would be (remember its got 8 movment points).

I am also suprised that googlie gave up the location of the party boat without telling us-- I was inactive by this time so I don't recall the playing ahead and spotting your fleet issue.
I will say one thing though -- When I played I was NEVER aware of any playing ahead for advantage and take a bit of offence at some of the inneuendo.

But I did - it was shortly after Hobbes joined the Pirates, and unaware of the no multiple playing rule sent the probe foil in a different direction and discovered the CyCon invasion fleet.
At that time I pointed out the rule, and said that to balance the playing field I would reveal the location of the probe to the CyCon
2004 edit: Hmm - My recollection is faulty - it was after I made the post re Hobbes' misadventure (see below) that I "leveled the playing field
The rationale was - PEACE now knew the location of the CyCon fleet thru the probe's route, and if that were the official turn, CyCon would then likewise have spotted the probe. To now give the probe's actual co-ordinates was the only proper course to take to allow both sides equal access to information
(I'll find the appropriate post in the PEACE forum and insert it here as an edit)

As the official turn hasn't mirrorred your "playtest" moves - and it's too late for me to enforce your probe taking the route you scoped out without turning the clock back before the Drones move - I'll let Maki's move stand, but I have advised the CyCon that their marine expeditionary force has been "illegally" sighted and let them take it from there

ahhh--- I didn't understand that telling them that they were illegally sighted meant telling them the co-ordinates of what sighted them. I don't disagee with your decision , just didn't quite get exactly what it was then . Even now, reading your posting from the time, it isn't entirely clear from it what was ruled.
