Update of Shaibani preview
New screenshots, now looks a lot better, I think: http://members.xoom.com/SHaertel/Shaibani.html
For anyone interested, there is also a new look for my main page: http://members.xoom.com/SHaertel/Index.html

Great work, those city graphics are awesome!
Nice colours... that way your city icons are both realistic and well visible on the map...
But I couldn't load a few of the images. The links seem to be broken?

Hmm, I tried again, and this time the first image was the only one not to load... It is the title image, I guess...
But the rest looked great to me!

Damn Xoom- that first image is a JPEG which is the only reason why it won't load. It's a map of modern-day Uzbekistan.

Well it is suppose to be steepe... other then that I would surmise that city creation on the steppes are not encouraged.

When I did the map I also did the terrain graphics, at least most of them.
The plains are represented as steppes in the scenario. The map was done using many different sources and is by far the second best i've ever done. The first being my map of the Aegean.
The area is 90% plains. Grasslands are very scarce, even by the rivers. I have added salt flats and wooded steppes terrain and even the resources reflect the area; wild horses, cattle, etc..
And Stefan, I still have first dibs on playtesting.

You could use more than one graphic and terrain set for plains/high grasses.

True, but there wasn't much I could sacrifice for slots.
I used them all up for other terrains. Plus i'm not sure what Stefan has changed from what I originally did.

I'm quite happy with the map, the production of the plains is high enough that they, if irrigated, let the cities survive.
I have only changed the production of the valleys a bit and renamed "Shangri La" (Sorry, WarVoid ) into something more fitting.
