Let us frolick and tell stories,
as such would be a fitting end to a hero.
To his strengths be very kind,
and to his faults a little blind.
Wakey wakey.

A steadfast ally in the one CTP PBEM game I shared with him, and also the one who promted me to start CTP PBEM in the first place... Not much contact, but significant nevertheless. If it wasn't for him I never would have stuck around at Apolyton, so he certainly changed my life for the better.
Rest in peace, Faded.

Just turned 30 and still burning the candle at both ends.
I guess now we'll light a candle for him.
I hope they get the ba$tard who hit him…

At least we know what happened. So many people have disappeared over the years, & I can't wonder if some of them haven't met similar fates.

Great thing about the internet, something never seen before, is the way it can not only connect the world despite national borders and distances, but how we can become fond of those we have never met. Yet despite never having met in person, friendships forged online can be stronger than any.
God Bless those our friend left behind.
See you on the other side brother.

Thank you much, I spent multiple hours researching the minimal amount of information I have on Steve......
To no avail....
Not that @ this point it would matter, other than I personally want to drop his family a card and a prayer for peace..
Faded Glory-~smile~ you are loved and missed my friend!
Peace

I've seen mention of a card, but what about just asking Ming to e-mail the brother a link to this thread and have this act as the card?
I remember FG when I first came to 'poly... he was in the CtP PBEM area and always impressed me as a good player and smart person... though he did seem to get in trouble with the mods often it wasn't usually anything major.
I remember the time he got banned for having an interesting female-themed avatar...
And all this time I was hoping he'd some day choose to return to CtP PBEM.
R.I.P. FG.

Sad News Indeed
Rest in Peace
To those who are searching the obits, you might be looking too recently. The PM to Ming was sent on 10/18/2003, but only after his brother was cleaning out his things. We need to cross check that date with the date of Faded Glory's last posting to get the proper time window to do a search.
EDIT: The last post I foudn for him was on 9/21/2003. He was a regular poster before that. I would check bwetween 9/21/2003 and 9/28/2003. It seems almost certain that the funeral has already been had.

Flame,
Ming didn't get an email from Steve's brother, he got a PM from faded's account. Any PMs sent to faded glory now will of course most likely never be read by anyone...
pchang,
If you reread the message Steve's brother sent to Ming, you'll see that he passed away Wednesday (the 15th).

Locutus is correct...
Also... his last posting date was due to a restriction (see his last post and guess why) not his death.

Oops. That would make it the 14th for the accident (for some reason, I was looking back at the 8th, 9th and 10th). I will recheck again tonight.

What a shame that ****ing drunk drivers keep stealing precious lives every day and too little is done to prevent it.
RIP FG, hope you are in some nice place now.
