We may not get the free units. I'm still working on my turns, but I started to get the "Too many units" warning in 1915.

One more good reason for using Xaos to clear space for our own units.

Yes, Thot was playing his turns and then suddenly he fell silent. Even if he can’t play as many turns as schedulded he could pass the game to Thoddy. I’m going to send him a mail.
By the way Shade, thanks for your support in this alien crusade. If you are the lucky possessor of the ToT version of civ2 you would be most welcome to join the team. If Thot doesn’t come back, there’s just the 3 of us left : Rufus, Thoddy and myself !

Hi guys,
Great story . I wonder if I could join the alien team?
I only just bought ToT (after 5 years Civ2) and I'd like to give succession games a try.

Thoddy has been ruled the aileen Empire for about 15 years.
His goal was to strenghten the economy and build up a primary force for defeating landed enemies. He decide to build spys, tanks and some stealths, because better alien weapons were not available at the time.
In 1916 the space whistles, that the German Empire was defeated by the Americans. The same happens to the peaceful samurais of the Japanese Empire some years later.
In 1917 an event happens, that never should be happend. Spanish geeks land on AC.
Our spaceship lands as number 3 in 1919.
Such a shame.
At this time Thoddy sets a lot of available ressources to get new technologies. All alien islands has been connected by airbases to get reinforcements from our small army as quickly as possible.
In 1922 the too many units message appears.
In 1926 we have a population of ~80 Mio, funds of 10.000 gold and we earn about 4.000 gold per turn.

Marcel I, welcome to the team
If you want to play, just download the attachement put by Thoddy and play 10-15 turns and then post the file and the log
Beware, I think you need the patch 1.1 to play
Good luck
If you have any question, you can mail me

OK txs for the invitation.
Just one thing: I tried to download the English Patch v1.1, but it seems the server is down.
Is this a temporary problem?

Marcel I, the down should be temporary
I'm sure you can find the patch at many other sites, like the cradle of civilization (dedicated only ToT) and civfanatics

In 1926 Marcel I takes control of the great Zzzzyyx empire. Being very sad there aren’t any earthling heads available to bonk right now his main goals are to find the earthling invaders on our planet and to build up our towns. Even if we can’t find the eartlings in the next 15 years we should at least be able to grow our population over 100 mln.
1927 Machiavelli completes his epic history: “The most advanced civilizations in the world” Our former rulers have brought us to the no 1 position. Pay homage to them We receive a message the Russian spaceship just arrived at our planet.
The luxury rate is set to 40%
In 1928 there are lots of cities celebrating
In 1929 the hated message “too many units” appears again. Our population exceeds 85 mln citizens.
In 1930 the population grows to 88 mln. The luxuryrate goes up one notch to keep those cities celebrating. The people seem to love me. I don’t know why though. There is still nothing of importance achieved by Marcel I.
1931 Future tech 3 Population 90 mln. There are 2 kestrels and a dragon in the air now to search the world for those bloody earthlings.
1932 Population growth to 93 mln, still on schedule
1933 95mln
1934 99 mln
1935 103 mln citizens but still no sign of the spanish Zzzzyyx scientist discover future tech 4
1936 107 mln luxury rate to 30 %
1937 most of the celebrations stopped. Population over 110 mln
1938 112 mln citizens
1939 Where are those rivals. It’s hard to find them on the map. 114 mln citizens
1940 Future tech 5. 116 mln citizens. According to democratic rules Marcel I has to resign after 15 years. He wishes the next ruler good luck

Nice work Marcel 1 !
It's going to be a tough one

1941, Zzzzzzzyyzyzgvzdzx takes over the presidency of the Alien Nation. First of first he thanks the great Julius B for his no-limits patch which allows more than 30000 gold. Gold we be required to succeed in the difficult war ahead. We start building many factories, nuclear plants and so on to improve the production of weapons, production that is stopped by those *** too many units messages. After shutting down a few ennemy bombers that were wandering on our beloved planer alpha centauri it gets better. The key unit, for now is the drakon. We want air superiority. Two gates between the worlds have been build. One is near Duck Soup and leads to south america. A small expedition is moving north to attack the spanish cities in mexico. Engineers should join to build a road to carry more troops. A second gate from near Huh has led us to Taiwan where in 1948 a spy has captured a Russian city. It should our base for further actions in Asia. It’s rushbuilding a SDI hoping not to get nuked next turn !
But take a look at the earth, boy it’s going to be tough ! The Spanish in America and the English in Africa look formidable and the Americans all over Eurasia look almost unbeatable. I thought that the Russians were the weakest, only holding Australia, Madagascar (!), Indonesia, China and Vietnam, but the little city of Issus (size 4 on Taiwan, far away from any warfront) was defended by five units, a coastall fortress and a sam battery. It is quite frightening. Indeed it made Zzzzzzzyyzyzgvzdzx died of an heart attack. Invasion Planet Earth look very very difficult. May his successors succeed in the Name of the Great Alien Nation.

Here’s the game. Rufus is next., then Thoddy and Marcel I. Anybody else still active in the forum ? I stongly recommand you download the no-limits patch to get rid of the money limit. Frankly, spies are the only way I can imagine we may win. But then, I might be wrong ...

Got it. A 4-day Islamic holiday started today, so I've got a couple of days off work. I'll try to play it by mid week, and make it my Christmas gift to Thoddy.

I downloaded the game a couple of rounds ago to take a look at it. Frankly, I agree
When you guys earlier said you couldn't build any more units, I assumed you already had SOME units! It's basically spies, engineers, and a few offensive units now, right? Yow.
I don't have the no-limits patch or the gigaworld patch, but I'm more interested in seeing how you guys do than in taking a turn, myself, anyway!

Bit of help please
I've still got the game, and I'm afraid it's because I don't have the no-limits patch installed and can't find it on the new, improved apolyton (all my searches end in internal configuration errors). Julius, could you post a link to the patch please? Many thanks.
Thoddy's break takes a bit of the pressure off, but I should still be done by just after Christmas. Heck, I'll be done tomorrow if I can get the patch and can't get LoTR tickets. Meanwhile, I'll continue to panic...er, strategize.

Learn those eartlings the true meaning of peace on earth

Merry xmas

Thanks Marcel. Cradle of Civizaltion occurred to me late last night, but I'd already shut down and was just too lazy to reboot. I'll download tonight and play within the week. Good will toward men? I don't think so.

Gentleman, I'm afraid attempts to install the no limits patch on my system keep screwing things up; i'm sure the problem's with my system, not the patch, but I've neither the time nor patience right now (at the end of the semester) to get to the bottom of things. I'm going to pass this turn, but will with any lucj be able to play my next. Happy New Year, alien brothers! Good luck to all.

Well, then Thoddy shall be next
But Rufus, I don't see what could be wrong with this patch. When you get time it should install smoothly. If you have downloaded it correctly, I cannot imagine any problem
Just put everything in the correct folder
But don't worry, at the pace we're playing, earth won't be conquered before the end of the summer semester
