Because the winamp volume controller resets the windows volume controller.

Is there a method?

Does anybody knows how to get the next/previous/pause buttons on my keyboard to work with WinAmp 3? I had no problems getting it to work in WinAmp 2... This is about the worst issue with this version...
Still haven't tried 5 beta yet... have been busy all day...

Change the slider in the main winamp window to what you want instead.

I've found how to minimize... you have to use buttons
Why is it that all my special buttons on keyboard/mouse is completely useless now

ADG You mean the B, C etc buttons used when visualization are on full screen? I dont know it just worked right away with me. Sometimes they stop working tho, after rebooting XP or restarting WinAmp3 they come back alive.
Tried Winamp 5 yesterday, like Winamp2 it sucked. In fact imo it was even worse. All I want changed in Winamp3 are: it should be lighter, it loads too long, it uses too much CPU, GPU power and memory. What I really want it to have is an ability to count total playing time of the play list, like in Winamp2xx

Not those... those "shortcuts" works fine... though they've got a problem: You have to have Winamp selected to be able to use them... I'm talkingabout the play/pause/next/previous buttons that's built into this keyboard (Special buttons)... those works (or should work) without needing to have winamp in focus...

I think that we can all agree that the Microsoft distribution of Windows is unspeakably horrible and that someone should fork it and start distributing an improved one
|
i misread "fork" the first time.

It's good, I like it. Better than 2 and definitely 3.

oh, here's one note.
shut it down if you're going away from the computer awhile. if you let it run while your comp goes into an extended screensaver period, while it's either in pause or stop, it's slow as hell when you come back to use it, utterly unresponsive.

I don't use Screensavers, so I probably wont get that problem
I just installed WA5, and it's defently better, though I have only tried it for a few hours, but at least I can use the keyboard to get to next song

No, they just couldn't figure out the normal versioning system, so they're spewing random but increasing numbers for their versions.

No, they're clearly copying the Leisure Suit Larry series.

From what I heard, it won't have the killer WinAmp3 feature of multiple playlists until 5.1, so I am going to pass.
|
i'll admit that i've never used any library feature, and only played around with it in winamp5 yesterday... but it does look like the library allows for multiple playlists?

I don't know what that multiple playlist was good for... I actually found it very annoying, since it made it diffecult to start the app by pressing the playlist...

EDIT: Default skin

But for some strange reason I can't get it to startup with windows automaticly... I have to manual press the playlist file in the start-menu/startup folder

Can someone keep us informed when there is a new build released? Or at least give the URL? I'm going to keep using new builds until the final release... bugs getting fixed en route is always good .
I installed WA3, nicked the skin from the skins folder , got rid of WA3, installed WA5 and used the skin. Problem solved! No cross fade yet

I just downloaded beta 2 and melikes!!
You can have winamp 2 and winamp3 installed at the same time, though I think winamp 5 is like an upgrade to winamp2, so you can have 3 and 5 at the same time, not 2 and 5 I think. Gonna check later.

winamp5 does replace winamp2 in the registry.
you can still have winamp2 if you installed winamp5 into a different directory (like i have program files/{winamp, winamp3, winamp5}), but you have to create a shortcut manually. the upshot? to uninstall winamp2 after installing winamp5, all you have to do is eraze the folder.

Does the new version make it possible to start the program via startup folder in start menu, by having a shortcut to a playlist?

I'll take a look at it later (Hoping someone will bump it in an hour or two... otherwise I'll probably forget )
