There's a lot of grey matter in there.
One thing about a career in government is you end up with beautiful soft hands, like a baby's bottom. If you ever meet a senior bureaucrat or ambassador have a look at their hands. Exquisite. Its the mark of a mandarin in the East or the West. No manual labour.
And a soft handshake - don't want to damage your colleague's delicate sensitive hands.
I should let my finger nails grow.......

I have had women complement me on the softness of my hands

The length of your ring finger is an indicator of how much testosterone you received in the womb. Men with a long ring finger tend to be more competitive and successful in life. They also tend to be better at sports and if you think that is joke, one English premier league team is now selecting juniors partly based on ring finger length.

I recently broke the 4th metacarpal on my right hand. When the bone healed, my ring finger on that hand become 3mm shorter. I am happy to report no ancillary loss of testosterone.

Beware. A high hairline is often the first step to a horse show haircut.

What point are you trying to make? Excessive testosterone causes male pattern baldness.

I always thought it was normal for your index finger to be longer than your ring finger ...but then I am female, so maybe this is a good sign

Although my middle finger looks the longest, it also starts further forward, so is pretty much the same length as my ring finger. My index finger is about 7.5mm shorter than both.

No. Looking at it straight, it is almost as long as my middle finger, and looking at the joint, the middle finger is set further forward than the ring finger. I just measured them from joint to tip and got:
Index: 7.3 cm
Middle: 8.0 cm
Ring: 8.3 cm
Measuring them from a static line (the ring fingers joint level) gets:
Index: 7.7 cm
Middle: 8.5 cm
Ring: 8.3 cm
I've always been good at sport, and have relatively hairy legs, so it goes that i probably had more testosterone, except that I have almost no temper.
