Nah, better to win one legitimately - make a decent film then campaign like heck throughout Hollywood, and shmooze, shmooze, shmooze. That way you don't have to scratch his name off it.

The Pianist was the best directed film of all the oscar contenders.
I won't defend Polanski as a person (that's his job), but I will defend his tremendous skill.
