yes, it's a 'success' inasmuch as constant vigilance against terrorism is a success.

as long as people hate, terrorism will fester.

Absolutely. And that's why I think the war on terror is mostly a failure. But one should not ignore the little achievement this war has brought. Ignoring the little successes would be as blind as ignoring the huge drawbacks (I think I listed everything in a previous post)

I believe the Thais followed a tip from the CIA and arrested Al Qaeda's main plotter in southeast Asia. He was planing to attack the APEC meeting in Bangkock eariler this week.

While it wouldn't suprise me that terrorists are behind the California fires. I doubt it. It is probably punk kids with nothing better to do.

But it seems to me if the terrorists wanted to they could burn down the entire western U.S. I don't know why they don't do it.
