Elise Game Recap

"Little moves", from strong Scrabble players, always mean something. Moves like QAID H5 and VEG 12D, for example, are all about improving Elise's rack. MARTS 10B was all about giving Elise an exclusive hook onto the triple-word square at A8. Quackle's CWM F1 and DUG I1 are attempts to open a bingo.

But the best little move of this game was Quackle's AVE 2M. Falling way behind, Quackle needed a huge scoring move to get back into the game. Already holding a blank, the best way would be a triple-triple bingo; hence the move AVE 2M to make a triple-triple possible. Luckily for Quackle, it drew the other blank, and was able to play REsHInED O1 the next turn for an amazing 176 points.

However, that valiant attempt was not enough to overtake Elise; the game was again won in the endgame.
